Can it be done. I have a little over six months to train. I'm not completely out of shape cardio wise...I can do some jogging and elliptical for an hour at a good pace.

My thought was to start c25k then get to 10k and go from there. Ive always wanted to do this run but I finally feel up to the challenge. I just need to hear that I'm not crazy.

  • You're definitely not crazy! I think that might be my next goal after I finish 10K training, and I started 5K training at the end of August.

I'm a fan of the Couch to 5K page and recently saw a post from someone who either did a half marathon or marathon who had started the program in May. You can definitely do it!

Yes u can do it, as long as u do it the Jeff Galloway way. Have u read any of his books or read his Facebook page? It's all about the run walk method. Run when u can walk when u need to. And the couch to 5k, 10k, and half are great tools. I'm still doing the c25k, but I've already ran/walked a 5k this weekend. I trained for this past 5k on a treadmill, but now I'm hooked on running outside. Just compete with yourself and keep striving for your personal best :). Keep us posted. Add me as a friend if u like.
