Can I count water that has been flavored by Mio towards my total daily goal?

Does anyone else use the stuff?

I personally don't drink mio or log my water since I drink plenty of it, but if I did, I would probably log it as water. This is a heavily debated topic on this site and many people will only log water. However, unless something is a diuretic/causes dehydration, your body is going to magically know that it isn't solely water. Now that doesn't mean that plain water isn't better than other drinks, but I don't think if I put lemon juice in my water that it is going to magically transform into some strange substance that my body isn't going to use as water.

I love the stuff. It's what got me away from soda.

And yes, I count it towards my daily water intake. It's not like your body doesn't use flavored water to hydrate itself just because there is a flavor in it.

I think too many people are hung up on the "water" idea. The advised quantities is really for fluids, water is just usually quoted as its better option.

water coffee diet soda crystal light mio whatever.

Try mio right in vodka. It makes it scary palatable. No burn no gag is dangerous.
  • I count liquids. I have coffee, tea, flavored waters, and still honestly primarily water - but I count it all for my daily liquids.

:-) I drank MIO mixed with water and vodka on a trip earlier this summer. You're right, it is dangerous, it tastes just like Kool Aid! Now it is my drink of choice though, especially now that I am trying the low carb thing.

Count your water, coffee etc. It's fluid entering your body, it's better than nothing. Some people have a hard time with fake sugars and it slows down their metabolism but some people don't have that issue. Do what works for you but drink your fluids :)

Thanks for the idea ( I think) :)
