I guess you could call me a new runner. I used to run in high school, now I am married and I have gained 50plus pounds and plan to start running again tomorrow. I am going to download the couch to 5k on my iphone to get started. Any suggestions?

Suggestions..hmm.....Stretch first, wear good shoes, don't be discouraged if the first day is hard. Keep at it, have faith in yourself and let your body start feeling the positive effects of what you're doing for it.
I promise you that if you stick with it, and get yourself into a mindset where you actually enjoy it, in 9 weeks, you will be running 3 miles or more straight and you'll wonder how on earth you ever found it hard to run 60 seconds straight. I promise.

Since you used to run before, you will remember how things used to be. They aren't that way anymore. It may take some getting used to. Don't push yourself the way you used to, at first. Keep in mind the long term goal and be careful not to injure yourself. If you are anything like me this will be super hard. Don't get discouraged that you can't go as fast as you did before. Pay attention to your form and keep with it. It will get better if you have the patience.
