W7D1 - I will not be derailed!!

Well yesterday was a test of my resolve.... Yesterday was more of a Monday than Monday if you know what I mean. Went through an Audit at work and had to explain everything that we do, why we do it, how we do it, and who we do it for. This being an internal audit I thought that the auditor would at least have an idea of how a manufacturing floor operated. WRONG!!!!

So the only thing that I have to look forward to is my W7D1 run yesterday after work. Let me say for mid November the weather could not have been better at lunch time it was 68 degrees and somewhat sunny. So I thought all would be great. I finally get home and the sky is now overcast and the temperature is dropping due to a cold front moving in.

As soon as I walk in the door my wife tells me that we have to go to a meeting at the local park for a Christmas event we are part of. so by the time I get home it is 7pm, dark, raining and 55 degrees. OK... I know that a lot of you have to do this in much colder weather but in Charleston SC we pull out the parkas and ski pants if it gets into the 40's!!!

So after running though all of the excuses I can think of, I remember that I told a friend that no matter how bad they didn't want to do it today, they would feel better if they did. So I did.

It was actually one of my better runs and in the 25 minutes I cover 2.85 miles. Now I am really excited about my first 5k next Thursday.....

Right there with ya, buddy! (Except the audit - that really does suck!)

But I did W8D2 today, and almost the entire run, I just felt like quitting. I was so tired, it was so cold (ACTUALLY cold! 30deg, so LITERALLY freezing cold!), and I just wasn't feeling it. But I kept going. Wasn't a bad run - 2.21mi and averaged 12:39mm - but it just didn't feel all that good.

Here's to us finishing our weeks strong! :drinker:

Edited when I realized that I'm on Week 8, not Week 7 - WHERE DO THE WEEKS GO?!?!?

PixieGoddess -- "(ACTUALLY cold! 30deg, so LITERALLY freezing cold!)" -- My Bigest fear with my new found "like" of running is what I am going to do when it gets below 40!!! Kudos to you and anyone else running in those temperatures!!! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

I had W6D3 today. The entire run felt miserable, but I finished. You will do awesome on your 5k. I did one at 4 weeks.

What I wouldn't give to run in the 60's again. If I am lucky, it will be in the 40's for my W7D1. We're getting some snow today.
