"Believe that you can run farther or faster. Believe that you're young enough, old enough, strong enough, and so on to accomplish everything you want to do. Don't let worn-out beliefs stop you from moving beyond yourself."
-John Bingham
"Frustration is the first step towards improvement. I have no incentive to improve if I'm content with what I can do and if I'm completely satisfied with my pace, distance and form as a runner. It's only when I face frustration and use it to fuel my dedication that I feel myself moving forwards."
-John Bingham
15 miles starting Sunday and ending Saturday... Yep that easy and you know you can do it! Just log your daily miles, the total miles for the week and encourage your fellow challengers to make their goals, yep it's that easy.
"Run when you can. Walk when you must. Crawl if you have to. Just never give up." Dean Karnazes, the Ultramarathon Man
For the folks returning you know that the 15 miles is not the main goal. The main goal is just to get up and get moving, if you don't meet it that's fine and you surpass it, well that just freaking rocks.
For new comers the preferred method of posting miles would be:
Sunday-miles-what you did Monday-miles-what you did Tuesday-miles-what you did So on and so forth, posted daily or when the miles occur...
Total- Running total for the week thus far
As always this is not set in stone, if you post every other day or whatever fits into your schedule, but please try to stay close to the above format.
For those folks that don't do miles:
http://www.digitaldutch.com/unitconverter/
for conversion to be made easy (Thanks Nonafit)
Now let's get moving folks
"I loved the feeling of freedom in running, the fresh air, the feeling that the only person I'm competing with is me."

Wow I feel like it's fate that Reese posted these quotes by John Bingham and I just looked him up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Bingham_(runner) and well...he is an endurance walking advocate and I have been thinking more and more that if I'm going to achieve my marathon goal I need to acknowledge that walking will be a big part of my training and probably my race. I think my body will be more likely to cooperate. THANKS for the inspiration!!!0

I know I know it is a good walk. A year ago I couldn't even walk to the corner. I just thought I was walking more and I was so happy thinking I was doing 15 miles a week. Guess I need to leave the group since I am no wheres near walking 15 miles a week. :grumble:0 -

You said it lady! Welcome back by the way!!!
Thanks!! Glad to be back. I did a bit of walking in Korea, but didn't keep track of much. I logged on here every day but didn't do a whole lot.
Aaaaaaaaanyway, now I'm training for a half marathon on April 28! Whoohoo! I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a thread due to MFP rules, so I'll just put it here:
I joined Team in Training which helps to raise money for the Lukemia and Lymphoma Society, and will be doing this half marathon with them, in honor of two of my friends who lost parents to cancer. I will be raising money for the LLS in order to do the run. If you can take a couple minutes to look here and donate if you can, that'd be awesome :drinker: :flowerforyou:
