Ok well I called the doc yesterday to request more test done instead of just the free T4 and TSH & she had said the T 3 level is not helpful in determining my levels WTF!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on! Its one of the most potent thyroid hormone for goodness sakes, I almost laughed.. What is this world coming to? Im so mad right now, I have NEVER seen a endo that I have liked, I can't stand half of them! They wont work with me the only go by the test & im sorry there are way more test to take than just those two that she took

UGH! I feel ya. If T4 converts to T3 and that's what your body uses....ummm....It doesn't seem like rocket science, right?. I don't blame you one bit for being angry. It took me over a year post TT before my endo would prescribe T3, but now he's fully on board with MY plan. I'm not his biggest fan, but he at least admits that my blood panel levels were X before my TT and will help me to get them back there. Just keep pushing and asking questions. Sometimes the best offense is the best defense!0

Ya, you have to keep pushing unfortunately...most endos know diabetes and not thyroids.0

My endo told me that they don't totally understand the importance of T3. He just added 10 mg of Cytomel to my regimen to see if the added T3 would help reduce the symptoms the Synthroid isn't resolving. Are you feeling better with the T3 med? I had a total thyroidectomy in February and haven't been on Cytomel very long. I'm hoping it makes a difference.0

I don't understand why they don't see it as important cause its one of the most potent active hormone ! Id think if they were smart that they would cover every basis and look at all the test.. It drives me nuts!0
