having a really rough day

I just really don't feel like eating anything today. I know I should force myself but the thought makes my stomach turn. Also, it seems like I'm able to eat a lot less than others who had surgery (VSG) around the same time as me, should I be concerned about this?

I have had the same problem, and asked my surgeon at my last checkup. He said it was hormonal, as a result of the surgery, and that it would last six months, maybe nine if I was lucky. So take advantage of it while you can. The cravings will apparently be back.

When I have those days, I just make certain I get my protein in, using supplements if I need to.

It is very disturbing though, isn't it? I used to feel like I was hungry all the time, and now I almost never feel that way.

I sure know the feeling. I am 3 weeks out from surgery. I have days when I dont want to eat anything. Even the protein shakes are hard to get down but I do it. If I force myself to eat something every few hours though I do feel better than when I dont eat anything at all.

I have to really work to get my daily food in each and every day. I also focus on the protein because I don't want much more than that. My surgeon said as long as I was getting my 60 grams and attempting other foods, I was good. She said that my stomach is still healing, and I needed to remember that the guidelines were just that, guidelines. She specifically said not to beat myself up if I couldn't eat that much each day.

So, I guess my message, do the best you can, and don't beat yourself up!
