As I'm preparing to pack for a trip to GA, it comes to my attention that I have very few clothes. I'm a SAHM (with a few accounting clients) and I guess it never really hit me that all I ever wore were "mumus". I had smaller clothing that I kept even as I was getting bigger because I kept telling myself that I WOULD get back in them, even though I honestly wasn't ready to loose weight. You know, favorite stuff I was going to wear again. Well, 3x's are a little big and though I can fit 2x's I don't feel comfortable in them yet. So, as part of my 4 + hours of cleaning the other day, I decide to go through my closet to get rid of some of the old non-fitting stuff (big junk). As I'm pulling stuff, I realize I have like 3 nice blouses, 2 pairs of jeans, and about 50 million pj's, nightgowns, mumus and such that I can now fit back in. This of course isn't counting what I work out in. I am so tempted to go out and buy some new stuff but I honestly don't want to because I really want to get down even further. I do have one more pair of jeans to fit into before I won't have any that are too big but no more shirts. The jeans are a pair I haven't worn in over 12 years. Why I kept them, I'll never know. Now, I keep them hanging on my wall in my room beside my elliptical. Everytime I exercise at home, I keep focused on them. I can almost button them and I swear by my birthday (Feb 13) I will fit in them. Luckily, I have enough nice stuff for my trip though most of the time I'll be wearing my workout stuff because I'll be working in the gym and I can just workout after I finish each day.

So, anyway, just thought I'd share my frustratingly joyful find. BTW for those that are wondering, I started out in VERY tight 5x's so I was probably more of a 34/36/38. The jeans I can almost button are 22's so they still qualify as 3x but the 2x shirts I fit in are 18/20, so go figure.

Hmmmm, when I write it all out, it really seems like I've done something wonderful...ok, I have ;>)

I hope everyone is having a great week so far, I know I have!

    Awesome job!

My tip: Don't ever underestimate the power of Good Will or other second hand stores. You can get really nice, sometimes designer name, clothing for very cheap. It's a good way to have fitting clothes as you lose. Then when you get to your GW you can buy yourself some new stuff. :)

I love our thrift store (DAV). I have a 16 month old and we all know how expensive their clothing is because you're lucky if they wear something twice. I donated and then got a couple tops.

That is great I have been shopping in my closet lately because I have a lot of smaller clothing boxed away. I agree with the thrift stores it is a great way to get transitional clothing that will fit you now until you need even smaller sizes :)
