I have been eating really well. my food diary is public. i would love for people to look at it. only losing 1lb a week. i know my sodium was really high for a couple of weeks b/c I messed up a recipe & used tablespoons instead of teaspoons. I have cut that down.
my question: dr says I need to cut out the cuties or eat them first thing in the morning so the sugars can break down. seriously? that is the only treat i get all day. i don't want to eat them in the morning. i eat them as snacks at work at 10a & 3pm. she keeps recommending nuts but they put me over my calorie limit. help!

just glancing through your diary, the food looks ok - you could use egg whites in the morning versus whole eggs - that would cut that calories - where's the exercise??

Not sure which surgery you had done. I know before my lap band was placed I was not given a calorie limit. I was told to eat 60-80 grams of protein a day and less than 50 carbs. I hit my macros most days and really try hard not to eat the carbs. Especially the empty carbs like bread (white), sugar, white rice. I stick to carbs from veggies most of the time. With the exception of the s/f ice cream that I so crave at night. And 1-2 pounds per week is what My surgeon wants to see. If it's more than this he gets concerned that my band is too tight and I am not getting the nutrition I need. Once I hit the protein goal I am usually not hungry for anything else.

I would not choose that entry for your eggs. It is way too high. A large egg has about 60 calories. By picking the "scrambled" entry you don't know what else was accounted for in that calculation (a common problem here on MFP). Use a generic entry for an egg and then add in your diary whatever spray, butter or oil you used to cook them in. I love oranges too but my NUT says not to eat them without some protein first, maybe .5 oz of the cashews with a cutie would be a better choice. or a tablespoon of almond butter with half an apple. or some red pepper strips which are quite sweet with 2 tbsp. of hummus. I will be getting my sleeve shortly but am practicing up ahead of time.

i doubt that you should be worrying about 80 calories from clementines or tangerines. Try changing up your exercise routine a little instead of trying to get below 1200 calories. Also a pound per week sounds like a good sustainable weight loss plan to me.... just saying :) at 2 pounds or more per week eventually you would cease to exists.

thanks for the advice. I guess i should've mentioned I had tthe sleeve exactly 2 yrs ago. lost an initial 75 lbs in 6 months without doing much other than eating very small amounts. hadn't resolved my emotional food issues (I am a candy addict) so I gained back 25 over the last 1 1/2 years. I am back on track & I really am never hungry. i was afraid my stomach may have stretched or couldn't lose again. that hasn't been a problem. I still can't eat much more than 1/2 a cup of food. I am okay with a lb a week. I just got floored when she suggested cutting out the fruit. being a struggling candy addict I like to have something sweet every once in a while.
I am trying not to eat processed foods, prepackaged foods or artificially sweetened stuff. fake candy or sugar free sweets just send me right back into craving sugar.

EXERCISE: this is a huge struggle for me. I signed up for a 5k in late feb & I have only been on the treadmill 3 times in the last 3 weeks. i really need to get afetr it.

I didnt think your diary looked too bad. I would pump up the protein and water, that seems to help with fat loss. Also, if aerobics arent your cup of tea, you might consider lifting. I know it seems silly...you want to get smaller, not bigger. But I am learning that building lean muscle actually allows you to burn fat better. At my last dr office visit he told me to concentrate on lifting and strength training first, then cardio. It makes sense really...ever wonder why men lose weight faster? They have more muscle mass than women. I wouldnt go under 1200 cal/day. That is ok in the beginning since you really cant get much more in there than that...but after awhile you should still be able to lose at a "normal reduced calorie" diet. I have mine set at 1500/day. I dont usually get that far, but I get 1200-1300 most of the time. One pound a week is a very healthy weight loss. Besides, its not always just about the number on the scale. How are your clothes fitting? Are you getting leaner and smaller?

Best of luck...I think you have done an awesome job so far! Feel free to add me!
