Ok guys...Atkins is SO EASY that I keep forgetting that I'm trying to change the way I eat...last night I accidentally ate a piece of candy at my daughter's basketball game (yes I'm an impulsive eater...)... :( After I ate it I remembered..."CRAP...I'm not supposed to be eating that!"...UGH...It's just that, later in the day, or when I'm busy, I forget that I'm eating low carb because I'm not hungry and it's so easy...what am I going to have to do?! ...get a tattoo on my hand to remind myself of this lifestyle change?! ...suggestions appreciated...

  • HI there! Could I ask you how many days it took for your appetite to lessen? Was it about a week into Induction? Just curious...I'm envious that your appetite has decreased so much.

  • Chew sugar free gum. This way you will have to pause before putting food in your mouth and that may help you reflect why you shouldn't be eating someone off your plan. I am impulsive/conclusive. I was a chain smoker for 15 years. Quit cold turkey and used food as a replacement. It has been hard stopping the mindless eating but you have to find tricks to keep you in the present.

    Best of luck!

Hi! Appetite was suppressed on day two...I had to remind myself to eat after day two...the protein is just keeping me full...I do have cravings, but I don't count cravings as hunger pangs...I've been craving bran lol you'd think I'd crave chocolate or something but no. The Atkins shakes and snack bars are pretty good for helping to control cravings and are good for any phase. You can find them at Walmart... Drinking water helps with hunger pangs too...sometimes it's easy to mistake thirst for hunger. :) Try drinking a full glass of water when you have a hunger pang. :) Hope this helps.

I quit smoking cold turkey too...and gained as a result as well... :) I like the sugar free gum idea and will def. give that a try. :) Yes, mindless eating is the best way to describe what happens with me. :) Thanks.

Keep in mind that no one is perfect. WE all mess up but we are not failures until we quit working our program and go back to eating crap. It is three steps forward and one step back most days, but the journey is moving forward. The longer you are on plan the less trips in reverse and you will one day put a piece of candy in your mouth and spit it out because all that sugar now tastes gross! I am cheering for you! YOU CAN DO IT!

I almost ate a bugle yesterday lol.. As soon as I was about to stick it in my mouth I was like "No Kassy, you're on induction ya crazy woman" & put it down. I am also an imulsive eater, I will pick things up & almost eat them alll the time lol.
