Janurary Web Lifting Meet!

Ok so Rules:

1. You have the entire month of January to complete your 3 lifts (we should throw the OHP in for obvious reasons)
-- a. If you do the OHP as well you are bad *kitten*
2. You can do as many attempts as you'd like
3. You must video the lift for it to count (time stamp please)
-- a. Show us your warm ups if you want
-- b. Super awesome lifting music is encouraged (possible meta competition there)
-- c. Videos need to submitted to this Topic by Jan 31 to count.
-- d. It would be nice if you could edit all your lifts into 1 video and label somewhere what weight you are lifting
4. Weight yourself at the beginning of the month and end and post the medium of the two.
5. Gear that is allowed: Belts, Sleeves, Wraps (wrists and knee), Chalk, Ammonia Caps, Any shoe.
-- a. If someone wants to compete multi-ply they can.
-- b. No straps allowed
6. Lifts must be performed to standard powerlifting standards
a. Pause your bench, just show us it has come to a stop, no touch and go
-- b. You can receive a lift off but spotter must not touch the bar during lift
-- c. Squat BELOW parallel
-- d. No hitching the Deadlift
-- e. OHP must be strict
-- f. OHP must end with feet near each other and elbows locked
7. Brownie points for highest total, Winner decided by __________ (wilks coef?)
-- a. If we get a good turn out and the winner lives in Cali they get free 10cc of their choice (;

    IN. I'm gonna alter my ME lifts for January and make sure they're just a straight up max.


    I hit a decent 225 paused bench Monday and forgot to film it, dammit

    My phone camera doesnt appear to have an option to time stamp vids, will that be a issue?

    not necessarily true. your strength can still go up steadily even if you are losing weight.

    Certainly can continue gaining strength while cutting!!
    There's a tonne of factors involved. Remembering that strength gains are never always muscular gains. :) but most often neurological. So a big factor would be how strong you are to begin with when you start your cut. If you aren't up to any intermediate standards I see no reason why some form of strength gains can't continue while cutting...unless your doing some crazy huge deficit cut.

    I highly doubt you are elite. So continue to get stronger and get some damn vids up! :p

    We can go by Wilks score and separate by men and women (not sure if Wilks coefficient accounts for gender in the first place?)

    Just started lifting again this week for the first time since Sandy, so I'm going to skip this one and try to get back to at least where I was. If there's another one though I'm all in.

    I'd forgotten.. happy to post deadlift vids from my comp last week - no OHP though so will try to get that sunday.
    Body weight last week was 81.6kg at the comp.. I'm 81kg this morning :)

    I'm unsure if I'll be able to go for 1rm's. (not in January anyway) but maybe in Feb.

    I will be getting to some decent triples so I might just film them and use that for fun :smile:
