Coming to grips with the fact that in order for me to lose weight in a timely manor I have to cut out gluten, sugar and dairy :sad: ...I,m exercising and eating with in my calorie range but it doesn't matter ....my weight loss journey is stalled I'm not budging and it's killing me. I'm trying so hard...but now I know I cannot eat normal anymore if I want to make change I have to eat right for my colitis.

    So frustrating! It sounds like you're doing it all right, though; smart. Has your doctor suggested sites or programs that offer menu options?

    Basically he said if u go gluten free stay gluten free because it takes awhile to reverse effects of gluten......I have not yet gone to a dietitian if my plan does not work that will my next step

    It's irritating I feel like my healthy weight will always be a fantasy....but I will push through those thought and trytryagain

    I am grain free and dairy free. There are lots of blogs that can help, a number of them are sugar free as well.

    My doctor didn't give me any warnings about food other than avoiding seeds.

    I am new to this group, friend me, looks like we have more than UC and diet in common..=) we can share advice..I control my UC with diet but it is really hard to lose weight...:smile:

    My doctor said it was be helpful to cut out gluten too... :grumble: Good for you for making the change, it's a hard one to do!!!

    Take a look at the Specific Carb Diet. I was on it for two yrs and felt great. A side benefit was that I lost weight. I'm 5'8" and went down to 120. It's no grains, gluten, sugar, lactose.

    The diet was designed for those with intestinal issues.
