Congrats on getting the book! Such a great read.

    Some tips I found important:
Keep the calories high. I know we all hear to lose weight you need to restrict calories but not on 80/10/10 As long as you are stay in those percentage ranges than you can eat as much as you'd like. Over the summer I was eating 4,000 calories and up and lost a lot of weight. I'm not saying that you need to go that high but it's nice to know that you can actually eat and not go to bed hungry.
I always tell girls to aim for 2,500 calories. Keep you calories up will reduce cooked food and high fat cravings. If you crave cooked or high fat it's a good indication that you haven't eaten enough fruit.

Save your fats and greens for the end of the evening so your belly has enough room for the high energy foods. It's perfectly fine to have greens added to smoothies but things like a salad for lunch can sometimes through you off.

Get enough sleep. Sleep is really important. Sunlight is a big one too but if you are in New England like me it's not so much an option right now.

Have fun with it. This lifestyle takes a little while getting down pat but make it fun. Slip ups might happen. Don't beat yourself up over it. We're human and it happens. Just jump right back on after. Remember that low fat cooked is better than high fat raw.

Another great resource is the Banana Girl diet group on facebook. It's not 811 but they are raw and use the same percentages. Pretty similar though. They have a lot of knowledgeable ladies on there.

Thanks for the info and encouragement, I really appreciate it! No I'm in the USA and it is cold and rainy here right now, so not much sun for me right now. I haven't figured out how to do percentages yet. Haven't got to that part of the book yet but I will soon hopefully. Thanks again... Keep in touch!

Welcome Rawvine! We are in this journey together :) I'm re-reading 80-10-10 (again) starting this week. This will be the third time I've read the book but each time I read it I dig a little deeper...3rd times a charm! I started this journey December 2, 2012. I like the amount of energy I have eating 811lv but my struggle is trying to blend this lifestyle into the foods I prepare for my kids (now 8 and 7). I'm still trying to perfect their smoothie and wraps for lunch. Fortunately they are high fruit eaters naturally but I cook them dinner daily and I find if I don't plan my meals ahead or if I don't eat 'enough' fruit then I'm tempted by dinner. I stopped tracking my intake about a month ago and that has been a mistake. With grad school, work and raising kids solo its a hustle to say the least but I owe it to myself to track. It's really an eye opener of the food choices you begin to tolerate when you don't track...at least that's been my experience.

Can't wait to hear how things are going for you! Please keep in touch and let us know so we can support one another (and share recipes too!)
