Tuna - in water or oil?

Is it best to eat tuna packed in water or oil? Actually, it doesn't say what kind of oil on the can. So, water?

    Oil preserves the fish better I should imagine but idk.

    I prefer water because you have no control over what oils they use in the process -- could have lots of soy, etc. in it that I would not want in my diet.

    Also a good point. I've seen some imported from Italy brands at the health food store that say packed in olive oil. Maybe I'll try those. Have always wondered if $4 tuna fish in a jar is any different than $1.50 tuna fish in a can.

    If it's a good oil, more fat is better!
  • After eating tuna in water for years and then trying tuna in oil, I vote for tuna in oil. Very tasty!
