Hi everyone! I've been doing crossfit and dieting for a few months and just not seeing results. Going to start a strict 30 days today! Somewhere between open nutrition, marks daily apple and whole 30 programs, they are all really close. Comes down to the fruit and nuts, I think I can do without them.
I'm 35 and want to get in great shape before trying to conceive. My husband is doing medifast, so I'm going paleo alone. Would love your support! Thank you!

Great idea! I am day 6 of my second whole 30! Add me if you would like, I share my diary. Honestly, I dont recommend cutting fruit (they r so healthy) but you should only eat it in moderation. I usually allow myself an apple and an avocado a day only...and I dont see any harm there. I am dieting for the same reasons as you (getting fit before TTC).0 -
Hey y'all .. I've been *sort of* doing Paleo for a few months, not strict by any means but trying to get there! My daughter was sick this whole week and I wasnt eating at all because I felt iffy, so today we went to subway because it smelled so good LOL horrible I know, but oh well.
On the topic of fruits/nuts ... I would suggest only have one or two pieces of fruit a day, early in the morning so your body has time to burn the sugar from them. Nuts, wow, those affect me! I can eat a whole bag of pistacios if my tongue would let me. They can be addicting and really add on the fat. If you find yourself eating too many I would just cut them out all together!
I'd love to be added if y'all want ... I need more support and friends0 -
Welcome to this awesome group. Feel free to add me. My diary is always open.0

Thanks guys! For those of you who friended me, your introduction email disappeared after I accepted so I lost what you said! Please email me again!
Seems like one doesn't really need to count calories on paleo, so I'm not logging right now. Do you guys log and eat paleo too? I think I'd flip if I saw the fat and calories, and get lots of flag warnings about my carb levels!
I posted a little of my first week summary here if you're interested. http://forum.whole9life.com/topic/7526-cave-girl-megan-whole-30-log-week-1-recap/0 -
I am starting paleo tomorrow so i am also looking for friends..0

Hi there! We have a ton in common! Just like you, I am just beginning Primal, going at it sans husband, prior to TTC. I'll be 33 in April and I have quite a bit of weight to lose on my journey. I've decided not to give up dairy, but otherwise, I'm completely on board. I plan to journal through as much as possible so as to better understand my n=1.
Glad to be starting with you!0 -
Feel free to add me!
Though it is true that you don't *need* to count calories, calories do affect the result. Even if you're eating strict paleo/primal, if you're eating 3500 calories a day you're going to gain weight Rob Wolff actually suggests MILD calorie deficit for better results (if you aim to lose weight).
I log so that I can keep track of my ratios, and started with a relatively high calorie goal so as to not obsess over that part. If I don't cheat, I easily meet my goal... or stay under by as much as 600 calories without even trying!
Anyway, aside from logging constantly, I have an open diary so anyone can add me0 -
Robb Wolf's Paleo Solution book has a 30 day meal plan. Maybe that would help.0

Anyone is welcome to add me. I have been paleo/primal since July 2012. I cook all my dinners from scratch, swing kettlebells a whole lot, and I lift heavy weights.
I calculate my calories according to the IPOARM way-- http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12

Hi all! Also new to Paleo/Primal. It's been going pretty well, feeling good. Would love some friends who share the interest as well! I started with the Well Fed cookbook, and have to say everything has been just amazing! I have made just about everything.
For those that track their macros, what is your goal percentages?0 -

Hey y'all, I've been primal since January or at least I think primal but I just got the book so I'll be reading to make sure I'm understanding it right.
Feel free to add me. I try to motivate but can be a tad inconsistent depending on how busy the day is.0 -
I am just starting my first ever Whole30 today!
Feel free to add me - I will try to keep on tracking while I do this (even though I think Whole30 encourages you not to). I am getting excited about putting the scales away for at least a month!
Edited due to poor grammar.0 -

Hi there, I am also new to this group It all started about a week ago when I decided to give up bread, rice and potatoes, starchy snacks. I have been doing pretty good but I need some direction/accountability. I had this Paleo book along with a cookbook gathering dust on my book shelf. I got it out yesterday.. I signed into MFP ( I'd joined a couple of years ago but dropped out) and looked up Paleo diet. A very nice and supportive MFP member suggested this group.
I have to say that I am so happy that I can have fruit! I have to be careful because I will begin to convince myself that a whole water melon is a serving (LOL) I am still eating small amounts of dairy.
I will check out the references posted below for explanation of Paleo vs Primal Paleo
I am looking forward to the benefits of this new eating plan, and look forward to "meeting" like minded people!!
Welcoming New Friends!
