Hey everyone! I'm new here. I've NEVER been a distance runner. Once in my youth (15-16) I managed a 7-min mile every morning before school. But that was more than a decade ago. Growing up I played basketball, softball, and was a sprinter on the track team. Pacing was always a problem, the way I took a 400m, by the end I'd almost collapse.
I started this program because I have a Warrior Dash coming up in June. I'm very excited. My sister in law is going with me. We just want to finish it. Haha (our sights are SO HIGH)
I'm just so excited that I've stuck with it so far....yeah I know. Haha I'm not one to finish a fitness program, so I'm so psyched! I made it the first day and didn't get sick. WOO!!

I was NEVER a runner and graduated C25K a few weeks ago, just to let you know that it works for a large range of people.
Pacing is a problem for most people - everybody wants to run fast, and you have to run slow first. Concentrate on running more slowly than your walking speed at first. Once you're able to comfortably complete the entire workout, you can pick up the pace a little.
And, congratulations on finishing Day 1. That's one of the biggest milestones of the program (and I'm being completely straightforward when I say that - think of all the people who don't make it that far).0 -
Thanks!!! Congrats on finishing. Have you done any 5k?0

I have one coming up in April. I'm not really concerned because I've walked them before, but look forward to actually running one.
My current goal is a 5k run in the 30 minutes. Most people exit the program runners, and able to run for 30 minutes, but not quite up to that 3.2 mile goal.0
