    What the ****!!!

Kits I'm almost more freaked out by your mad investigative skills than the fake profile.

It's a google feature. You can search by image. Now we can all be secret spies. To be fair ingot a heads up to check it out, but I didn't really care until she got sh*tty. Generally I don't care until I'm given an incentive. Sex, money and revenge are all really good incentives hahaha!
I sometimes wonder about myself. Only in terms of weight loss. I have read countless stories where diet/weight loss companies are selling their shit and use people's before & after pics to promote their stuff. I'd be pissed if some company did that without my knowledge.

Oh man, I got fooled by the troll. Karma, I guess. Well done, Kit.

I've used the search-by-image trick on some emails I've gotten on dating sites and uncovered some things I almost wish I hadn't.

    What the ****....

I'm making a petition to kill the internet now!! People are too weird, how the hell does someone find the time for this crap?

I guess I was fooled too, but the screening process for my FL only consists of hitting the add button.

That's pretty much my screening process too. She was on my FL until last night.

I was awake anyway (had a bout of insomnia last night) so I went creeper status. It didn't really take long, except the girl flexing was on a few different pinterest pages and I had trouble narrowing it down. I still doubt that it was accurate but my point was made and I was losing interest.

I used to follow a blog where this girl lost roughly 50 lbs and put up a before/after shot. Then one day she saw her photos in a Facebook ad, being used to promote some diet pill that she had never even heard of, let alone actually used.

Go to the Google Images search page. Click on the camera icon on the right side of the search box (it will say "Search by image" when you hover over it), and then you can search by pasting the image URL or by uploading an image from your computer.

I just did a search on your image. You're either the smartest salamander ever or, and I am beginning to suspect this is the case, you might not really be a salamander!

I should have lied and convinced you all that I'm really a top secret agent. Like Archer (because I tell everyone in an attempt to get laid).

Ok, I gathered all relevant info and screenshots with my photo being used. Found out through a look up that the ISP is located in Bellevue, WA, only 1.5 hrs from where I am. The mature thing to do is file a cease & desist and mail it to them, though I am tempted to go to the ISP in person and "hand deliver" the notice personally. I do need to get to sleep for work in 6 hrs. I'll keep you guys posted.

Hey Cesar, you know there are lawyer referral websites where you can get a free consultation. Admittedly, they're probably gonna push you to sue (they're seeing dollar signs) but if you're thinking of suing for damages down the road, it might be helpful to talk with a lawyer from one (or two) of those sites before you contact them.

I found out, in two separate consults that a) the legal action I was wanting a lawyer for could be done by myself for cheaper and b) another time I found out that language in my cease and desist order could actually COST me the lawsuit should that company have contacted me again. I'm glad I ran it by the lawyer first and heeded his advice to remove a particular sentence.

I've tuned in part-way through a a crime drama or two, so I'm pretty qualified to talk about this subject. Anyone uploading any picture ANYWHERE on the Internet should assume they are giving up any rights whatsoever to that photo forever and ever. You should also assume that any email you send to ANY address is now public record. It's just the nature of transmitted data.

Some services, like Instagram, will specifically state the photos you upload may be used by their partners to advertise their products. Tumblr and MFP do not, but they both have a disclaimer basically saying once you upload it it is public.

Now whether or not this is "right" or even 100% legal is probably debatable. I'll have to watch some more TV and get back to you. In the meantime, just emailing them and asking them nicely to remove it is probably a good idea.

The Bellevue address you see is just a service that is used for people to privately register a website (called "whois" data). The actual company decided not to publish their contact info when registering the site and could be anywhere from California to Dubai. The local contact has almost definitely never even seen the website but will pass along communication for them.

You don't like being famous? ;)

Great progress, and sorry for the probably incredibly redundant online privacy rant.
