Week 5---Done!!!

I am so excited! I was worried about W5D3. But today, this fat girl (at 280 pounds!) ran for 20 minutes without stopping!!!!!!
I think it is the first time I've run 20 minutes without stopping in my entire life. (At least the first time in 25 or 30 years!!).
I didn't come close to a mile during that 20 minutes (more like 1/2 a mile), but I kept running. I started at 3.5 MPH, and each song, I lowered it .1. I ended up at 3.0.
Amazingly, I didn't hurt!! I was tired, but I experienced my first "runner's high".

Definitely you can! It just gets easier after that first 20 minute run. (I mean, the added time isn't as much of a struggle as it was getting TO the 20 minutes.)

Totally agree with Kathleen. You've done the hardest part. It doesn't get any harder from here. Not significantly easier either, but it will get more fun.
BTW, I find the title of this book to be inspiring: http://www.amazon.com/Slow-Fat-Triathlete-Athletic-Dreams/dp/1569244677/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1363619257&sr=8-1&keywords=fat+slow+triathlete0
