Hi. I don't start for another 10 days. We are on vacation til then. I ordered my food so it would be waiting for me.

One thing i have been is addicted to the scale. If i am 100% compliant I should lose. Part of me wants to weigh day 1 and then weigh monthly thereafter. As much as i want to lose weight i would also like to get away from letting the scale dictate how i feel about myself. Anyone weigh less than weekly?

I am usually a once-a-week weigher when I'm trying to lose weight. It's kind of been like a 'reward' and an incentive to stay on whatever plan I've had.

However, with this....there's no guessing. There's no 'gee, I wonder if that extra slice of pizza showed up on the scale this week'.

And so, since I know that I am losing, the really strange thing is....I actually want to weigh myself more often! I've had to hold myself off, really. I've found that I'm weighing myself about twice a week. Friday is my 'official' weigh-in, but I've been weighing myself on either Sunday or Monday as well, it seems. Mostly because by then, I *feel* lighter, so I'm curious to see if I'm right.

And the weird thing is....I seem to be losing the most weight between Friday and Monday.....and then the weight holds steady between Monday and Friday. I'm finding that rather odd, but whatever. I'm on-plan the whole time, so I don't know what makes the difference. If anything, I drink a little less water on the weekends, because I'm not chained to my desk/water bottle.

Good luck if you can only weigh once a month, though! The scale will definitely drop significantly in a month! I think it will depend on whether you feel you need the encouragement of a dropping scale more often, or if you feel that 'too small' of a loss, or no loss at all during a particular week would only be discouraging, so you'd better stretch the time frame to guarantee significant numbers.

If I have the time in the morning, I weigh every day. It helps me to recognize the patterns of my body - I don't get hung up on a little up-tic or when I retain water due to my TOM, it just helps keep me focused.
