Anyone have any good info on smoking and metabolism?

Like how many extra calories, if any, you burn smoking a pack a day? I'm thinking of trying intuitive eating for a month or so. Here's why.....
I gained approximately 24 pounds over the course of three years. I smoked a pack a day, but also drank at least a two llitre of Mountain Dew daily. In August, 2012, I quit smoking. Shortly after that, I quit soda and I started counting calories. Seems to me if I had continued eating like I was at that time, sans soda, I should have started losing weight simply because of the deficit created by stopping soda compared to the lowered metabolism from smoking (which i have read is around 200 - 300 per day).
when I first started counting calories, i lowered my intake to around 1800 cals a day. Im a big guy who has always been athletic until 10ish years ago, so I have some muscle mass. Its just insulated now.
I'm currently 6'5, 226 pounds. I weighed 240ish when I started and my loss is very slow now. I typically stall after 6 weeks or so (when cutting around 2100) and have to fenugreek at maintenance ( which varies between 2700 to 2900ish). I had hoped to be around 200ish pounds by now, but I have lost bodyfat, gained strength and dammit I can run again! lol
I just seem to be hovering around the low 220's. The lowest I got to was 216, then I started a 6 to 8 week bulk with heavy lifting and about a 250 cal surplus. Now I just can't get back below 220 and I think its because 2000 is too low for me to cut.
Opinions?

I haven't seen any info on smoking and it's effects on metabolism.
But I also don't see it as relevant unless you were planning on starting again, in which case I would make fun of you with a meme or two.
If you're stalled out, consider filling out our questionnaire for it and we can examine.
Posting from phone, hence the blunt/short reply.0 -
Were you tracking calories when you stopped smoking?0

You burn 10-20 cals a cigarette because it raises your heart rate.0

lol ss....no worries. Best decision I ever made in my life. Like I said, I can run again! And being an avid outdoorsman, I have noticed a HUGE difference. Last fall I was able to drag a buck that weighed 185field dressed about a quarter mile by myself. Normally I would have had to call my son to help.
@Sarah, no I never started counting until after I quit smoking. And the weight gain really creeped up about a pound or less a month over the course of years.0 -

If you do a cleanse first I hear you burn more calories because all your diseases are gone.0 -

I saw a pubmed study once that showed that when you fed a rat a low carb diet, and give it lots of exercise, and some lemon juice, it loses lots of weight.
Therefore it's clear to me that as a human, you should do a lemon cleanse. Clearly it will burn all the fats and remove all illnesses.0 -
