To do maintenance or not...

Hi all! I've watched the videos and read a ton and was wondering whether I need to do the reset or not. I ate at maintenance (TDEE) today and found that I was still hungry (and still am) so is that any indication of whether my metabolism is good enough to start cutting or should I do the full reset? I haven't been eating super low (around BMR) lately so I'm not sure what to do to start. Thanks!

Hunger after eating more could easily just be the fact bigger meals cause bigger insulin response, and you could be sensitive to that and got low blood sugar, which makes you feel hungry.
    One day not enough

Probably need at least 2 weeks to really test if you are at TDEE eating level though.

Now were you eating around BMR and wiping out 500-800 calories almost daily with exercise, leaving body with under 1000 to actually use? Then you were super low.

Depends on how long, how long with little to no weight loss compared to before, ect.
  • I was eating around BMR and then eating back my exercise calories (so eating pretty much around BMR). I have no problem eating at TDE (kind of hard to get all of the calories in though) so I'm going to continue but just wanted to check. I wasn't losing weight at all really kept hovering around 153-155 at 5'9". Hence why I'm trying the reset.
