    Hi ladies,

How are you all doing this week? I thought I would just check in. I've been keeping up with my workouts and karate training - which has been great. I'm physically exhausted today and decided on a rest day since tomorrow I am competing in a karate competition. Food this week has been a bit of a challenge for me. I was having really bad PMS - crazy mood swings and cravings. Some months are worse than others for me with it and this one was particularly a tough one. Also, was really bloated and retaining water this week - so I'm not looking forward to my Sunday weigh-in - but at least this "cycle'' is just about done and next week I will be back on track.

Hope you are all doing well.

Every since I had my third daughter, mine has been out of control too. Some months are really bad. :(

    Hi Team,

I hope everyone had a great week. I was very busy this week with work, and found myself very tired towards the end of the week. I was still able to get some cardio and strength training in. I measured myself today and I have lost 3.5 inches since the beginning of the challenge. Also, my hubby has noticed that I have lost weight and inches

How is everyone doing on the challenges? I eat breakfast everyday, but I am not able to post a picture on the forums. I have been doing well with the crunches and still doing my squats. I have actually noticed a difference from doing my squats. I have lost 1.5 inches in that area.

And if you cant post pictures still share the recipe!! you still get some credit I think and it might lead to inspiration of others!!!

I really like that quote. Thanks for sharing it.
  • I was sent this quote this morning and thought that I would share it will all of you as well.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?...Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

  • Here is my info for this week:

    1) weight: 168.8 (gained 0.4lbs)
    2) days exercised (goal was 4): 4 (plus karate competition)
    3) number of crunches done: didn't complete bicycle crunches - I had been doing other ab exercises in my videos this week
    4) cooking recipe: posted
    5) days you ate breakfast (goal was 7): 7

My challenge to myself this week is the same as Jennifer's: meet all of the challenges for this week coming up and to stay with my calories every day. I had a bit of a crazy PMS week, went over my calories and gave up on tracking a few days. I'm going to turn it around this week.

Do you ladies weigh everyday? I do. I find it keeps me on track and I am a little addicted to it. LOL! Just curious as to what you ladies do.

I do weigh everyday, but I am thinking about just weighing once a week. I find myself upset if I gain a little and then lose a little the next day. I have been focusing on my measurements also. I measure myself once a month.

I love this one...its hanging up on my fridge

Here’s to us. Here’s to ordering salad when you really want a burger. TO making an *kitten* out of ourselves in combat cardio class. To drinking more water than seems possible. To going five minutes more on the elliptical. To working out twice as much as your skinny roommate. To saying, “Screw you” to the old you. To falling in love with the you that you really are, the you you want to become. To looking in the mirror and not seeing any change, throwing on your running shoes and hitting the gym anyway. Here’s to carrots, and shin splints, and sweat shirts, and perseverance, and sore muscles, and stinky socks, and 7 am conditioning class, and falling down, and getting back up. And here’s to getting up tomorrow and doing it all again.

    Hi lovelies,

Wow what a commitment from all of you !!! I am so pleased with your efforts I hope you will like this week's challenges .

This is our third week challenge !!!! Have fun and get healthy!

There is lbs reward for each part of this challenge

    max 8 lbs

    Exercise
    1. 4 days out of 7 of 30-45 min cardio or strength exercise sessions to be spread out during the week as it suits you best!

sessions of jogging, fast walking, cross-trainer or treadmill,Zumba, Aerobics, Dance, DVD , Gym etc.
    (moderate cleaning doesn't count ;) !!! )

1 lbs advantage for everyone who succeed to do at least 4 sessions!!!

    2. Try something new or something you didn't do for a while - independent exercise of your choice for 30 min session at least!!! I know its getting harder to come up with something new :-)) ... so don't worry too much it can be anything interesting unusual - special you would like to share :-))

If you lack inspiration, you can try swimming, clubbing (DANCING!!!), another class at your local gym, or that new DVD , take tennis rackets and go play tennis with kids in park ... or football ... I found out trampoline extremely hard in 0 challenge :-) and since I went to work last week I repeated it 2x and love it :-))

1 lbs advantage for everyone who succeed

    3.
so this week we will concentrate on abs and booty and upper body strength !!! And main challenge Crunch and squats

At least 135 squats and 135 crunches spreaded in 3 days and as new exercise try 135 push ups again spreaded in at least 3 days

1 lbs advantage for everyone who succeed 2 lbs for most BUT DON'T OVER DO

    4. Don't forget to take a day rest! Your body needs it.

    5. For the WEEK 2 FOOD challenge, I thought we might still keep it BASIC ( I think we will always keep it basic ) ! Let's take this week to focus on 5 A DAY and cooking and preparing dish with veg and/or fruit - let other inspire you with their choices and recipes ! I know from looking into diaries - there is so many of you skipping it , but girls (as far as I know we don't have a man in our challenge) come on this is not good for us.

there is NO excuse girls and having 7x your 5 a DAY is the only way to get 1 lbs advantage (sorry there is only medical excuse not to have a fruit /veg - please let me know if you need exception)

Keep drinking water - even if it is not our topic!!! I hope you picked up some good tips. I hope you got inspired with fish recipes and will keep eating 2x a week fish or other meals that include omega-3 fatty acids as a highlight. And I hope breakfast is your meal for ever .

    cooking challenge
Also, I will be doing Cooking Challenge for week 3. It will run from today may6th - may 13th . I need the pictures and ingredients of 1 dish you were having this week for yourself. It has to have at least 2 portion of 5 a day . I will be judging on healthiness, calorie amount and presentation .

You must send picture + recipe here
    http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/980731-cooking-preparing-food-challenge-5-a-day

Best recipe will get 2 lbs advantage for week 3 weigh in and everyone who post picture will get 1lbs

    To sum it
4/7 sessions of exercise 1lbs advantage
1 session of something special - let us know what - 1lbs advantage
135 Crunches 135 squats 135 push ups - spread in 3 days - 1 lbs for the everyone who manage to do all + extra 1 lbs for person with most of all
    7x your 5 a day foods - 1 lbs advantage
recipe - 1 lbs for everyone who post recipe extra 1 lbs for best recipe

1 last lb is for person who motivates you the most in your team . This person is going to be voted by other members of team.

    Hey Team,

Today I wanted to motivate you to give up a bad habit. My bad habit is eating at night time. I do well during the day, and then at times I eat terrible at night. So, for the past two nights, I have not ate after 8pm. What bad habit are you going to give up?

I love that idea!! Great plan :) I actually made the decision yesterday to not eat out this week. I love to...but its definitely slowing my progress.

We need to be on top of our game this week ladies!! As a team we gained .5 lb :( Lets all work together to accomplish the goals and lose weight together :)
  • Hi ladies,

How is everyone doing? I'm been MIA for a few days - really tired due to my kids not settling to sleep until late at night and then being up during the night. I have been keeping up with my workouts but not as great with my eating. A bit too much late at night eating. I know its only for a few more days this week but I'm going to give up eating after 8pm.

Starting tomorrow I am going to try giving up diet coke (again).

Hope you are all having a great day!
  • Another thing I'm going to try doing is pre-planning my eating for the day at least the day before. I find I often track as I eat (which is great when I am tracking) but at the same time I am more often to go over a bit because I haven't planned everything in advance.

I already pre-plan my workouts for the week so I'm going to try this with food as well.

I also love to eat out, but I do not often. When I do eat out, I always try to check the restaurants menu because most of them have their nutrition information available. I will be going out with my mom for mother's tomorrow night. I am doing well weight wise this week. I think that not eating at night has really helped. Another thing I did this week was to replace my bowl of cheerios in the morning with an omelet. I have noticed that I am not as hungry before lunch.

It's going pretty good. I messed up with the 5 a day on Monday but have been doing good since. I'm seeing the scale going down a bit again so that is nice to see. :)

  • Found this past week was tough for me. Lacked a lot of sleep - kids staying up too late and waking during the night. Ended up being really tired and not making great choices. Turning it around this week.

I did manage to do 4 days of exercise.

Went up 1 lb though - not great but could have been worse given my week.
