Oh Lordy, I haven't even seen 11 or 12 but I'm scared since 9 and 10 are still kind of kicking my butt!
I'm proud to say that I haven't missed one workout!! I love getting up every morning and doing this program and I'm really starting to see some results. My size 4 shorts were loose yesterday and I remember a few summers ago my 12's being tight. Goes to show you that slow and steady wins the race. I love this program! Really seeing some muscles developing too.
Running IS easier than HIIT workouts! I would rather run any day rather than doing Jillians Cardio, but I know it's good for me so.....

Wow!!! Sounds like you HAVE lost a lot of weight! Size 12 to size 4?! That's great!!! This is my first day of summer vacation (I'm a teacher) so I slept in and have been taking it easy this morning. I'm about to workout now though and start my day.
I, too have been enjoying this program. I have missed a few workouts here and there, but I always made up for them on another day. I think I may have missed one day of cardio overall but that was the week my grandmother died. I'm trying to decide what to do next! I was thinking about buying some of Jillian's other DVDs (maybe ripped in 30 or killer abs) and alternating those with running. Does anyone else have some post JMBR workout plans?0 -
I'm a teacher too! What grade? I'm fourth, I have 2.5 more days! I'm dying to be on summer break!0

just checking in... I feel like every other post I write has an 'excuse in it'! Went to go make up missed workouts on Sat a.m. and found a nice squishy wet basement carpet after heavy Friday night rains! Spent Saturday and Sunday wet vaccing my workout area... hope to get back to it tonight (more rain scheduled... fingers crossed my Jllian DVDs aren't floating! ha!)
Congrats on an awesome school year, teachers! I have a degree in elementary education... but work in an entirely different field... but it feels like I am working with children more often than not! ha!

I'm a Spanish teacher in a middle school. I teach all 3 grade levels (6-8). I won't have much of a break this summer because I signed up for workshops at the board of Ed (curriculum writing, etc.) and I just became the new head cheerleading coach at the high school next to the middle school where I teach (which is part of the reason I want to get in better shape!) I subbed all through college and when I ended up in elementary school I preferred 4th and 5th graders! Good luck these last few days of school!
So... Workout 11... Holy cow!!! I was sweating so much I literally slipped on my own sweat towards the end of the workout (gross... I know!) I'm excited that after tomorrow we will have officially completed all of her workouts!! I need to figure out what to do about the end of the week because we are leaving early Friday morning for a short 2 day vacation. Suggestions anyone??0 -
OH.MY.GOSH. So workouts 11 and 12......wow. Well, I hate holding chataronga, I hate scorpion push ups and I hate wheel push-ups......so.....looking forward to Thursday, NOT! Glad to be able to do a few of these moves though. Maybe by the end of next week ill be able to do everything? We'll see. I might spend a few weeks in this last 2 DVD's just to make sure I can get good form.

I can't do wheel push-ups I don't think it's a matter of strength, but a matter of flexibility in my back. I tried and failed the first time through, so the second time I just did normal push-ups. Hopefully I can do it in a couple of weeks!0

I actually skipped cardio yesterday because I was so sore!!! Feeling better today, got 11 done and getting ready to shower and be ready for the day....yes it's almost 11. I love summer vacation0

Haha don't feel bad... My workouts have been much later too on summer vacation I did NOT get workout 11 in today. I tweeked my knee yesterday doing cardio. I didn't think it was a big deal until I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and I had a sharp pain in my knee. It only hurts if I sit for too long (it gets stiff) or if I twist it in a funny way... But I didn't think lots of jumping (especially with added weights) would be a good idea. I probably could have done it , but we are going to an amusement park tomorrow and I didn't want to be in pain walking around!!! Luckily since this is my summer vacation I have a lot of flexibility with how I plan out my workouts0

I hope your knee feels better. Mine have definitely been sore since I started 11 and 12. It's all the jumping and plyometrics I think. I'm not one to have knee pain so I know that's what it is.
It took everything in me to do Cardio 3 today. I'm so bored with it. Love the strength workouts HATE the cardio. I think I will start the program over again when I'm done but I'm going to buy some other HIIT workouts to do in between because I CAN'T stand to do these over again.
How is everyone else? We're almost done! Who stuck with it? I skipped cardio on Wednesday from being so sore with DVD 11 and 12 but other than that I've kept with it the whole time. I'm finally getting a hold on my eating so I'm starting to see some real progress. Got some supplements too that is supposed to help with fat burning and muscle building. Excited for that.
Anyone going to start over after next week? If so let's stay in touch.0 -
First off... wheel pushups. I am putting those on my bucket list. My first round of JMBR, I could hardly hold wheel and twerked my back even attempting. I even talked to two different friends who are yoga instructors and asked for tips. Its just not in the cards for me... how does Kenta do it with that one leg up? I would videotape me attempting it but I am afraid it would go viral with the world laughing at me! ha! I will just struggle along to hold wheel and not even attempt pushup! (Chaturanga is another story... I hold it whimpering the whole time!)
WO11 and 12 are definitely tough. The jumping hurts one knee and one ankle. Take some supplements to help my joints. Cardio III is boring but so tough. I have Picture in Picture on the tv... so I will put another show on (sometimes food network, ha) and just follow along with C3 while watching another show! cheater... but trust me... still dripping sweat and panting. It throws me off when she gets out of order with the alternating front kicks from circuit one and two.

Today was my first day back to working out after resting my knee and going on vacation. Wow! I feel like I lost some of my strength in just 5 days! Workout 11 kicked me in the butt much more than the first time!
I agree about the cardio workouts. I really don't like them. Maybe if she included 2 per month instead of just one I would like it. I just get bored with them.... Plus they hurt!
What supplements are you guys taking? I am still really struggling to get my eating under control!! Since my friends, boyfriend, and boyfriend's family all love to cook and eat out, it has been a real struggle for me. And when I say cook... I mean cook some of the most delicious meals ever!!! Of course... With lots of butter, heavy cream, and just overall bad things go into those meals. Also, what heart rate monitor do you guys use? I have been using an app on my iPhone that measures your heart rate by placing your finger over the camera, and somehow it measures your pulse from that. It seems kind of accurate. So the first time through every workout I stop about 5 times and measure my heart rate. Then I average it and calculate the calories lost for that specific workout.
As for continuing this workout... I think I'm going to try something else. I might buy some other Jillian workouts and alternate those with running. I really want to try and train for a 5k again since I had so much luck two weeks ago when I chose to go for a run instead of do cardio 3. This program has definitely conditioned me! There is a Facebook group called JMBR graduates that I joined. Everyone on there talks about what they are doing after they did this program. Many chose to do it again, while others are trying other thing. I actually joined it halfway through the program and have been very encouraged by their posts.

this week has been nutty for me. i am a hockey fan and these late late stanley cup games are throwing me off. some games i get so tense i have been doing deadlifts during the game! But the late overtime games mean that i skip my following morning workout (I try to make that the cardio). So to make up for it I've been adding 10 mins of Cardio 2 or 3 after finishing my WO11 or 12. WHEW... talk about sweat!
For supplements, I take just a standard multi... I usually like the more natural Trade Joe ones. I also take Glucosamine when I notice my joints are achy. My knees/ankles/wrists hurt after some of these workouts. I like the Glucosamine. I try to get my vitamins/fiber from natural sources to make sure my body absorbs it better... but glucoasmine is pretty great.
Not sure what I'll do when I finish this round... definitely am glad I did this second round. I haven't lost much weight (but haven't been strict with my diet) but I feel stronger and firmer?0 -
I will have to try the Glucoasamine since my joints have been hurting too!
I will be done with the program Friday. My goal was to lose 15 pounds (including what I lost with 30 day shred) and I am officially .6 pounds away from that goal!0 -
Hello everyone! Last week was NUTS! Mon-Wednesday was Girl Scout camp and I kept up on my workout, but I left early Thursday morning for a wedding 7 hours away, so I modified my workout that morning and then did a run and weight lifting workout in the hotel gym Friday morning, but no workout Saturday. I decided I'm going to continue this program for this week so I can finish strong. I didn't really have a goal except to lose inches and I know I've done that so I'm happy.
As far as supplements here is a good article I found http://www.dailyperricone.com/2012/02/dr-perricones-top-10-supplements/ I have already bought 2 of the supplements and will try to get the rest after pay day.
I'm going to start over next week with phase 1 and heavier weights and then change up the cardio. I might buy some new HIIT workouts. I joined that group on facebook but I have yet to browse through it. I might do that today.
Well here's to finishing strong. Has anyone else finished it? No one has really posted.0 -
As of today I've lost 15 pounds!!! (15.4 actually). I'm super excited and very motivated to keep going. I will be finishing the program this week. I will re-measure and take pics then.
My knees seem to be doing better, but I also haven't been pushing it too hard on any jumping exercise. Those cannonball jumps are killer!!!! I'm excited to try and start a running program next week. It should be easier to run with less weight on your body, right?? I need to find a good heart rate monitor so I can more accurately count the calories I'm burning. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I am DREADING cardio 3 tomorrow, but I'm making myself do it. Only two more times with it!!! I think I'll play music and mute the DVD and see if its easier that way without Jillian saying things like "you should feel like you're dying" or "get your knees higher". Lol!
Lastly... I was able to (sort of) do one wheel push-up this morning!! Yay!!0 -
I'm currently laying in bed thinking of reasons why I shouldn't do cardio 3, I have now wasted enough time that I will now have to do it later tonight or go for a run instead......I hate that workout!

I did NOT complete all of cardio 3 yesterday I did two rounds of it, and my knees were so sore I had to stop. I planned on doing the last round later in the day, but that never happened. Workout 11 was rough today. My knees still hurt, and now my wrists are joining in on the "let's bring Jenny lots of pain" party. I fell backwards during the bear walks today and tweeked my left wrist (I am SO clumsy!) so all of the exercises requiring you to be in some form of plank or pushup position were painful. Never before today did I realize how much you use your wrists in workout 11!
But their is a light at the end of the tunnel! I am officially done on Saturday! Yay! I will be ordering Ripped in 30 today, and I will start that program on Monday0
