    Hi,
I also have PCOS. It seems to have phases with me. At the moment, I seem to be experiencing many of the horrible side effects. I've recently got out a few books I found helpful when I was first diagnosed. I also found teh Zone very helpful.
As I've decided it's time to make a change to my life and lifestyle, I m am researching as much as possible on food intake, what to avoid & amounts.
I'm starting this week focusing fully on whole foods, and fresh fruit & veges - part paleo, part zone. I'm also trying to up the exercise, as it definitely lessens the side effects for me.

Happy to discuss more, what I've found helpful etc :)

Hi - I have PCOS too.
I was lucky enough to be diagnosed by a doctor who also has it and she was wonderful with her suggestions.
She suggested I eat low carb, a diet that is suggested by many in the medical profession as a way of balancing hormones and helping to control symptoms.
I eat a primal diet and have noticed a big difference. the website marksdailyapple.com has lots of info on this in the 'about' section. The key is controlling your insulin through diet and this way of eating is very effective when it comes to insulin control. A great way to kickstart is by doing a Whole30 which is basically a super clean 30 days of eating without any dairy, grains etc. I'm about to start another one tomorrow. Info at whole9life.com - their book 'It Starts with Food' is excellent reading.
Hope this helps, feel free to add me if you want some support on your journey :-)

I had a look into eating primal & agree that it looks good. I have adapted this into my eating, but also include low gi foods and mufas with every meal. Its only been a few days but i feel better already. It will be a wee while until i see if any of the changes has any effects on my pcos. fingers crossed.
it's surprisingly easier than i thought it would be & i'm enjoying eating a healthier diet - it all has to be good for me.I'll be tracking my progress through MFP & sharing more info on my blog but yeah hope it works. thanks for the tip.
