A Doughnut!?

I was in day 5 being back in ketosis, and I stupidly emotionally gave in to a chocolate glazed doughnut. It was delicious!!!
I still stayed around 32-ish net carbs.
I'm not feeling horrible about it. I enjoyed it, it's over now and I'm moving on. My question is, how long approximately does it take to get back into ketosis after a small bump like this? I did not binge, just had one small doughnut. Surely it won't take 3 days?

I would guesstimate about 3 days as long as you're burning them Carbs off at the gym.0

32 carbs is probably not enough to bump you out of Ketosis. I mean it varies from person to person but I doubt it did any damage to you.0

Being at 32 net Carbs you should be fine.
Typically on keto you'd want to eat no more than 5~8 Carbs per meal. This should put you in the 30~50g of Carbs by end of day.
But like OU said it varies for people. I have to stay under 30g to stay in keto while there are those who can eat 100g and still be in ketosis.
Teluga like you said you're moved past it and there are other things for you now to focus on.0 -
Silly little choices like that tend to kick me out, and yes it can take several days even for just one goof.. weight training or long bouts of cardio seem to help!!0

Someone had posted a thread on Alpha Lipoic acid being great for after a slipup or even a deliberate carb-up for getting back into ketosis. Please look around. It is also used by diabetics as it is a glucose "disposer" I think they call it. Also, the longer you stay in ketosis, the more you will finally become keto-adapted and possibly get back into ketosis faster after a slip. Good luck.0

I regularly eat about 100 and I bounce in and out of Ketosis... I'd guess at 32g you're cool. Have the doughnut if you like0 -

Just be careful with the ala supplement. Yes it does help with the slip up, but you have to take a fairly high does for the glucose disposal property. From what I researched 300Mg or less just gives you the antioxidant effect. For me if I slip up I would take 600Mg~1200mg.
Taking too much ala can cause the body to go into Hypoglycemia. I always carry something sweet on me when I take high dosage of ala because of that. I've had dizzy spells from it once before, but nothing serious.0 -
What kind of donught are you getting that is lower then 32 carbs and where can i get one?!
Side note, it usually takes 2-3 days for me to get back into ketosis.0 -

Totally depends on the person and your activity. If you are so concerned with staying in ketosis... Don't eat that donut!!!0

This!
I've been doing keto for 10+ weeks. I did a 36 hour carb up 2 weeks ago and i ate over 1000 carbs during a Fri and Sat. It was a crazy amount of carbs. I went back to my sub 25g carbs Sun, worked out, and I was in deep ketosis Mon morning. So for me, it's a one day transition. I guess I'm also lucky because I've never felt the negative effects from a keto transition. And I've came out of ketosis a few times because I was way over doing protein. I'm wondering if it's because I had been doing Internment Fasting for the last year so my body is optimized to transition in and out of ketosis... not sure. maybe our body's get better at going in and out of ketosis over time.0
