Surgery in two days

Hi everyone;

Thanks in advance for your valuable information.
I have been dealing with messed up periods, PCOS all my life. I found some relief after switching birth controls two years back. I have been on BC, since 2009, and I am 25 yoa. This year January, periods would just not stop and I was on BC, I had non-stop periods for two months, with severe pain in my pelvic area. My doctor change my BC and now I take it 2 packs non-stop and bleed once every two months, this has helped with pain management. I would say, pain level went down from 8 to 6. But the pain never entirely went away. Now, I cannot live without knowing what is causing me this pain and bloating. My doctor had scheduled me for laproscopy but she changed it to probable laprotomy as well. I am getting nervous with each passing day. I have pain in my renal area too, and Extreme urgency to frequently pass urine is another issue.

I am pretty clear on what she is going to do, but I have never met anyone with endo, so I don't know if what I experience everyday is endometriosis, for sure. Also, what if it is not endo? I am confused and scared as a lamb :(

    Hey, I hope your surgery went well. I am recovering from my laparoscopy which I had on Tuesday. I am sorry to hear that you are suffering, I hope you get some answers from your surgery.

    Your symptoms don't sound like mine, but what I have learnt so far is that with endo it is all to do with where it is. So if yours is near your bladder you would have a very different experience to somebody who had it on their bowels for example. I did hear the doc in my surgery say something about the bladder healing well compared to bowels so that may be a positive to hold onto.

    If you'd like someone to talk to then feel free to message me. I'm only at the beginning of this journey too, so I'm not the most knowledgable but I'm more than happy to let you vent and hopefully give you support. :flowerforyou:

    Hi guys;

    Thank you so much for the replying. I cannot tell you how it feels to know there are others feeling the same way, and they are doing fine.
    Well, during my surgery my doctor did not find any endo, in fact, she says everything is just beautiful down there(her words).
    And I was relieved that I will not be caught in the endo vicious circle of laproscopies. But now, when I saw her yesterday, she believes that the source of my pain is either in my bladder o renal area. She wants me to see a gastro/urology specialist next. I am happy and sad at the same time. Happy that I am far away from endo and sad that I do not know what this pain is from. According to her, any lower organ pain can mimic endo, and I was glad that my doctor believes in what I feel. She is going to continue treating me for endo with BCP but she also suggested starting Lupron, I declined due to obvious reasons.

    Now, I am back at work but it's painful. I have swelly belly, my pants don't fit. I am finding it hard to sit in my work chair and too much gas(I know it's gross)

    Let's see what next!
