Zucchini "spaghetti"

I made some angel hair "spaghetti" tonight with my julienne tool and a zucchini and topped it with a quick meat sauce and some freshly grated parm. I'm not going to lie and say it was the same as the real thing, but it was pretty darn satisfying. Shredding up the zucchini was quicker than boiling pasta and I just added the hot sauce to the raw zucchini.

I had this tonight too! though I did it a bit differently. I sautee the zucchini noodles in a pan with minced garlic. I would add butter if I wanted, but it really doesn't need it. You can add spinach too!0

This is great! I have zucchini I need to use. I don't cook much so I dont know how to do the "noodles"0

the garlic sounds really good with it, love garlic. I was afraid to saute it though because I didn't want it to get soggy- I wanted that al dente feel. I will definitely try it with some garlic. This tool makes making the "noodles" really easy http://www.casa.com/p/kuhn-rikon-julienne-peeler-with-blade-protector-stainless-steel-handle-229452?site=CA&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc_C&utm_term=ZPV-816&utm_campaign=GoogleAW&CAWELAID=1309101467&utm_content=pla&adtype=pla&cagpspn=pla0

That sounds great!
Unfortunately for me, I'd probably end up accidently decapitating myself with a mandolin slicer, but if I can work up the courage I'll definitely give it a try!0 -
this sounds good, I will have to try it.0

I've don it with spaghetti squash0

You don't need a mandolin for it.. Those scare the heck out of me lol. Try using a regular old veggie peeler or splurge for one of the julienne tools.0

I happen to have a spiralizer which I rarely pull out. I am soooo making this tonight! Thanks for the inspiration!0

I love spaghetti squash but it costs so much so when zucchini is the best buy for ya money I go for that!! I need some now I will have to put it on the grocery list!!
Now I was wondering if the zucchini noodles would do in making a casserole like Mac n Cheese or
Turkey Tetrazzini ?
HUM Need to start experimenting!!!! :bigsmile:0 -
