I had gastric bypass 7 years ago, lost over 170 lbs and can offer anyone support, I have also had reconstructive surgery after 6 years of loosing the weight. I can say there have been ups and downs through my journey but I have learned quite a bit and can answer lots of questions about the changes needed to be successful.. I myself joined myfirnesspal because I want to loose another 15 lbs or so and also want to make sure that I continue to keep the weight off. so anyone wanted to talk about bypass/lapband what to expect or just hurdles please reach out to me. I am sure I can also use support to keep my rear on track as it is and will always be a challenge to be fit and healthy!

WOW! 170 is quite impressive! Good for you!
I had RNY Gastric Bypass 16 yrs ago. I lost about 120lbs. I kept it all off even through 2 pregnancies. However about a year ago I started on a new medication and its slowed my metabolism down to nothing. I've gained 21lbs in the past year! )-: I also am quite sure my pouch is stretched. I struggle now with keeping around 1300 cals, exercising (which I've never done any of in my entire life) and I still can't seem to make the scale budge.
I'm curious about the revision surgery you had. What was done? Was recooperation difficult? Risky?0 -
120 lbs is GREAT! I myself gained some weight back and realized that I was a stress eater.. I changed my habits again and also took diet pills(cheated) and exercise to help me get back where I was... so now I am wanting to loose the remaining weight just by diet and exercise. I also think my pouch stretched some but I have been working really hard to maintain the weight. as with the reconstructive surgery. I have had 2 rounds. 1st was these chunks on my outer thighs, Breast lift w/ impants and tummy tuck. 2nd round was inner Vertical thigh lift and Brachioplasty(under the arms) along with some lipo.. I had my final bit of lipo on the outer thigh hip area to help proportion me a little better.. all in all recovery was not bad at all. and I had no problems. It was all done out patient and I had a PS who works with the Barix clinic so he does quite a bit of surgeries on bypass patients.0

Ahhhh gottcha. I thought you meant revision of our GBP surgery. I've had most of the same procedures as you did afterwards. Everything is saggy and loose so a girls gotta get things back in the right places!0
