nearly week three of Atkins and NO weight loss - slight inches loss round my waist but surely the scale should move and I should be expecting better loss? I am in ketosis and eating about 1400 calories - now feeling this just isn't working for me - my head says it should but my body says otherwise! any ideas I'd be so grateful

how do you know your in induction?, are you using Keto strips?, are you using the new atkins approach? or the old atkins books, I find the new books with thier "net carb" approach to not work for me!!! there is nothing wrong with net carb way of eating its certainly better than not doing it at all,, but for me, I was so metabolically resistant, that only eating the way atkins set forth in his old books worked, I still do not use the net carb way,, I eat MEAT,, Eggs, some cheese, more Meat, steaks, roasts, pork chops, bacon, and lots of it, if your using protien bars, protien shacks, low carb foods with those sugar alchols, then those are surely whats causing you to stay stuck, consider looking at your foods, if you dont have a copy of the OLD atkins books from the 70's I am sure you can find one on Ebay or at the library, Also in the old book you will find the "FAT FAST" this fat fast works simply amazing to jump start the keto process, it works flawlessly everytime,, hope this helps

I looked at your food diary and you aren't eating enough vegetables - 12-15 net carbs from the induction list each day as a minimum. I think you could eat just a little less fat and more protein, too.

I agree with this. There isn't really any veggies in your food diary.
Are you weighing your food and the food you are logging, is it accurate?

edited to add: I also agree with timwhoa (and you seem to be doing it already) but some people can't tolerate sugar alcohols and can't do the net carbs.

I find this whole fat/protein very confusing. I've purposely tried to up my fat as I read that the fat should be the highest ratio. I've set my targets to 65/30/5 is your experience different?

I do weigh everything so I know that's correct and in the last week only had one Atkins bar, I eat pretty clean most of the time.

Vegetables might be a good thing to try and eat more of. Thank you for that, let's see how this week goes …

Totally agree with Timwhoa's suggestion that you should find the Atkins book from the 70's. That's what I started with, years ago, and it worked. I got lazy and regained tons of weight and years later, I bought and used the Atkin's New Diet Evolution, followed the new teachings to the letter and did NOT see the same results. I lost heart after a few months and quit. Years later, and tired of being so heavy, I have gone back to the old Atkins book and since August 2013, I have lost over 45 lbs, along with regular exercising. To this day I still do NOT follow the net carb way, as it stinks for me, and I see very little or no weight loss. Do yourself a favor...find and use the old book.

Until I find the old book, what do you recommend as a daily total carb count?

Why 1400 calories? How did you get that number? IOW, what is your current height and weight? It could be that your calorie goal isn't right.

Your settings are fine, but in another week or so, you could change to 65/25/10.

Choose veggies instead of processed foods.

Weigh your food carefully. Over estimating is often the problem.
