You can't listen to everyone in the fitness & nutriton world. If you listen to everyone and try everything, you'll just end up frustrated and stagnate. So choose your gurus carefully. Try their recommendations for 2-4 weeks and if doesn't work, toss them out and try someone/something else.

One of my personal gurus is Funk Roberts. I've adopted his concept of cheat meals and modified it slightly to fit what works for me. I also am recommending his approach for the November challenge. Here's a short 6 minute video on "How to Use Cheat Meals to Burn Fat:"

Wow that video really was amazing it explained it so well. Went out for dinner last night and didn't want to use my cheat meal this early on in the month. I ordered cedar grilled salmon and steamed veggies and asked for them without the glaze they put on them and had hot water with lemon slices to drink. I stayed the same on the scale this morning after a 3 day cleanse that I lost 5 pounds on. I was worried my weight would go up once I increased my calories back up 400 because it was calorie restrictive.

Thanks, Shawn! That was good information. I have a planned lunch with a friend next weekend, and now I don't have to stress about what to eat or not eat! And Thanksgiving is covered too! I'm feeling this challenge!

That was a good way to categorize them. My first trainer said to cheat every so often. It keeps the body guessing if you vary your calories. It doesn't know what to do with the extra food it doesn't need so it processes it out of the body.
However, if you continue to eat like that it changes its normal scale to where it no longer sees it as extra. Something along those lines is how he explained it.
