27 weeks pregnant today and weigh 130.4. Starting weight was 115 @ 5'4 so my bmi was 19.8ish. Is 15 pounds at 27 weeks about normal? I see alot of people that are gaining way less, but I know it all depends on your bmi before pregnancy. Hoping everyone has a fun and safe Christmas :)

Er, not. I just went in for an appt today and have actually lost more.

What are your stats? Are you of "average" size? I am overweight and know that losing a few pounds isn't going to be a problem. Are you underweight and still losing? Was your doctor concerned about your loss? I'm well into the 2nd trimester and I am still losing at this point. I would try not to worry too much. If you are eating good, whole foods I think you will be ok. Just don't try to stuff a bunch of junk into your meals to get the extra calories. Maybe try a protein shake if you find that your fluid intake is healthy and it's just the solid foods that are preventing you from getting enough.

    5' 6" - 184lbs
    Overweight but not obese
Doctor is a little concerned but says he will be happy as long as at my next appointment (3wks from now) I have gained.

I didn't go into work last week so I didn't weigh in, but no change from last week. I have an appt tonight with my MW. I am up a little since my last visit with her so hopefully I'll at least stay the same based on her scale and she'll be happy that I am not losing still. I'm still under my pre-pregnancy weight so I am happy with that as I am not feeling hungry, but am able to eat more of a variety now than I was before. Can't believe I am half way through already. It seemed to go by so crazy fast!!! How is everyone feeling?

    Hello Everyone!

I had my 25 week check-up on Friday, baby is great and I had only gained 1/2 pound since my last visit on 11/21. I guess the rapid gain in the beginning has hopefully slowed down a bit. Currently, 25 1/2 weeks and have gained a total of 12pounds. Beginning weight was 135 and I'm now at 147.5. Only 15 weeks left!! My goal is to stay at least 165 or below by the end. :)

My pre pregnancy weight was anywhere between 206-208 (not sure). My goal is only to gain 10-15lbs this pregnancy. So far I've been eating about 1900 calories. In first trimester I kept it at 1700. I also TRY to keep check on my sugars, and carbs. I hope that I can do this. I really want to start working out soon. But work, school, housework, and caring for my two year old has been keeping me busy. Not to mention that I get really fatigued easily.

    Starting weight- 6 weeks-214
    10 weeks-208 (-6)
    11 weeks-207(-1)
    15 week-208.8 (+1.8)

    A little update

20 Weeks -214 lbs ( +5) ;-( I am very upset. I haven't been logging like I should so it's my fault, and I am probably giving into temptations more than I should.

So far total weight gain is 7 lbs!!!

Don't beat yourself up about it. Start logging again and you'll even out. You are 1/2 way through. If you gained 1/2 a pound every week going forward you would still be under a 20lb gain. I think if you start logging again you will lose a little bit of that or at least maintain for a couple of weeks. :)

    10 weeks: +1 lbs
    15 weeks: +4 lbs
    17 weeks: +2 lbs
20 weeks: +6 lbs (talk about excess water weight!!!)

Total gain so far= 13 lbs

The 20 week mark is when I all the sudden bloated up 12lbs (In week 16, I was 259, dropped 5lbs and was at 254 in week 17) and by week 20 I was 266! Granted, I didn't eat the best of foods bc of birthday parties and being sick, but I couldn't imagine gaining 12lbs of actual weight! Still there and gained a few more since... you betcha I picked up my exercise routine pretty quick after that, lol.

    Update:
Week 28 - gained a total of 25lbs. I've been maintaining the weight gain probably close to 3-4 weeks. I workout in the mornings when I get to work and as long as I get the sleep I need, I'm actually not as hungry. I'm hoping to stay within the 25-30lb mark by the end of the pregnancy. Has anyone lost weight in their third trimester? I'm still eating pretty well, and will eat something extra if I still feel hungry, just trying to make sure it's the healthy foods ;-)

I hope to lose weight in my third trimester! My co-worker just had a baby and she actually gained the bulk of her weight in her first trimester and then lost in her last trimester! I really hate water weight! I had about 35 lbs of water with my daughter! I really don't want that to happen with this pregnancy.

Thank you! I gained most of mine during the first trimester and it freaked me out to gain so quickly especially when I felt sick ALL the time. But, thankfully throughout my pregnancy I have been able to continue my pre-preggo workout routine (approved by my dr) of 4-6x a week, at least 45-90 minutes. A mix of 30-40 minutes cardio and the rest of the time weight training. I also try to eat as clean as possible, I snack on almonds, greek yogurt, low fat cottage cheese, foods that are high in protein. My appetite has honestly decreased since I've become pregnant, food just doesn't sound good to me like it used too and I feel so full very quickly. I try to eat 5-6 small meals a day to help with that and drink a ton of water.

    Prepregnancy weight: 163.8
    Weeks 1-8: Continued to lose
    Weeks 8 - 19: 159.8
    20 weeks: 162.2
    22 weeks: 164.6
    23 weeks: 165
    25 weeks: 166
    28 weeks: 175
    30 weeks: 177
    32 weeks (Christmas OUCH): 181

    Goal: Just stay under 200!

Probably shouldn't have taken a break from logging, but there was so much food prepared by Other People, that it felt like an exercise in futility.
