So, I have been losing for a long time. I started my journey on August 23, 2011. I have been averaging 1100-1300 net calories a day since. Sure some days I go WAY over, rarely but they are there. Those days were mostly filled with processed crap. In November of 2012, I stopped losing.
No matter what I do I cannot lose. I tried a 1300 cal diet like Beachbody recommended, nada. In fact I have been gaining weight, even though I have cut calories. I decided it is time to reset my metabolism. I have all the symptoms of metabolic damage. I figured my TDEE both through my fitbit and fitnessfrog.com. I set my calories at 2250, and ratios 40/30/30.
This is scary for me because I am still over 50 pounds overweight. I've lost 87 yes, but still have more to do. I will continue to do Focus T25, then will move on to p90x3.
Any advice is WELCOMED as well as friend request from people who do not stare themselves.

what is tdee? I'm in for support. Frustration at the scale is something I'm familiar with. I too have a thyroid issue. I would suggest muscle confusion when working out. Do something differnent!:flowerforyou:0

Welcome and congrats on deciding to heal your metabolism and give your body the fuel it so desperately needs! Feel free to add me if you would like a shoulder to lean on...
Your story sounds very much like mine. I was in the same place as you are now, where I was eating 1,200 calories a day, doing tons of cardio and totally stuck and unable to progress. It is definitely scary and I totally understand that feeling of not wanting to "un-do" all of the progress you have made to date.
Personally, when I decided to take the leap and give EM2WL a try, I upped my calories by 100 - 200 calories a day and stayed at that level until my weight totally stabilized. Once I was comfortable at that level, I bumped it up by another 100 calories. I found that by doing it this way I avoided that initial weight gain. Of course, it did take me much longer to finally get to eating my TDEE goal, but I did get there (finally!)
I am sure that after years of VLCDing my metabolism was suppressed and it took a lot of work to get it back up and running where it should be. I started out with the idea of doing an 8 - 12 week metabolism re-set and ended up taking close to a year to get it done. But, now I am reaping the rewards of being able to maintain while eating 2,100 calories a day rather than the dreaded 1,200. Prior to EM2WL, My hair was thinning, nails were brittle and my period had totally stopped (I thought I was going through menopause as I was 50, but apparently that was not the case. About 3 months in to EM2WL, it came back...)
I also drastically cut back on the cardio and really started concentrating on strength training. This was one of the best things I ever did - the changes in my body shape have been dramatic (plus, I hated that cardio anyways, and would never have been able to continue that for the rest of my life...) I have found an exercise routine that I truly enjoy and no longer dread my workouts.
Welcome and feel free message me or post here if you have concerns along the way - there are tons of helpful and knowledgeable people on here who are always willing to help you through any tough spots (and feel free to add me).0
