I'm still here and around. 2 year anniversary is australia day (consecutive logging, I went on holidays overseas my streak reset )
My plans for 2014 is to:
> run 1000km
> finish a tough mudder with my mum
> complete a spartan race with less than 1 penalty
> run a sub 1h45 half marathon
> build up my strength (again, I let myself go with the weights)0 -
Happy New Year all.
I am still here. 32 M Sydney. After getting close to goal and losing around 20kg I fell off the wagon and was absent for about a year. Now I have seen where I have gone wrong and what was holding me back.
Not overly concerned about the scales. I lift, I play sport and I like to eat. Getting the right balance to get the most from a healthy and happy life.
Happy to support, be supported and share tips. Always happy to have more Australian friends.0 -
Here and accounted for, time for me to pull in the reins and be accountable again after regaining 6 kilo. Maintenance is really tough lol, I love living like I was 20 but the joints and the metabolism just don like it like i do, My feet hurt again, big time even though I eat as cleanly as possible, so I've not been able to do my 2 km walk with Titch every day. Now it's around the block. On a positive note I still jump around the pool in aquatic classes and this year I intend on mastering the freestyle swimming technic with goggles warn as I think that will help me stay at it. That's the goal!0

What a good idea! I just posted on an Intro board but looks like I picked the wrong place... I've been using MFP on and off for a while but new to the message boards but I'm thinking I'll enjoy logging on more with a few more buddies.
I live in Brisbane, Australia but originally from England, aged 37, no kids. I've only got a couple of kilos to loose round stomach to keep health in check (high risk of diabetes in family) but my nutrician is shocking. I actually love good food and veg (and love bad food too much also) but I hate shopping and cooking so always go for easy options which are often the worst.
Fairly fit exercise wise and love getting involved in local runs, bike rides and group fitness sessions if anyone lives in or near South Brisbane? Otherwise just looking for MFP friends, words of encourgement, advise and entertaining banter!0 -
I'm here... been on and off throughout 2013. Hoping to be a regular on here again this year. Need to lose a bit and track food.
Live Brisbane Southside and always looking for friends and words of encouragement.0 -
49 yr old mum of two (30 & 12). Also granny of a 4 yr old.
Currently on a losing streak (who would have thought that could ever be a good thing?), but still have a lot further to go.
Having MFP and like-minded individuals to chat to, keeps me accountable.
Anyway, I'm another one on Brisbane's Northside. Feel free to add me - one can never have too many friends :-)0 -
I'm still here, started of really well last year, but come towards the end of the year fell of the wagon big time. I'm planning to stick to it this year, have a Wedding to go to later in the year.
Feel free to add me0 -
I'm pretty much at my goal weight (I haven't weighed since before xmas, eek) so I'll be spending 2014 maintaining and increasing fitness. Go team!0

I took a break in December (logging was getting tedious and wasn't really being very supportive to anybody on here) but back on track. Basically, didn't lose any weight but between lifting, exercise and maintaining a decent diet (excessive snacking probably didn't help though) I'm pretty pleased.
Looking to lose another 9kg, hopefully by July and then I'll see about either coming off keto (transition into paleo) or just stick with keto. Probably depend on blood work I want to get done around this time
Other than that, want to start working on building a good core (Starting Strength/StrongLifts have been good but I think either I have crap form or my core is currently holding me back from increasing weight), work on adding body weight work (handstand pushups and planks so far!), maybe incorporate yoga twice a week and generally be more active (instead of spending most afternoons/evenings at home in front of the computer!)... I'd like to take up running or group sports but too many knee/ankle injuries to make it a good idea. So if anybody has suggestions...0 -
Still here after just over a year. I readjusted my goals and want to loose an other 10 kg after losing 20, however they move very slowly, so a new tack plus I have a New Years resolution.
Resolution is to run the Perth marathon if my calves and knees hold up in June. Diet wise I have to try something new, might try to 5/2 diet or I need to lower the amount of calories I eat , both will not be easy.
Good luck all feel free to add me as a friend, am quite supportive.0 -
Im here.
Managed to drop 18.5kg between August and the end of 2013.
Still planning to drop another 5-10kg.

Hi, I'm here!
21 year old student, working as a cashier at a supermarket, unfortunately. I had been on MyPlate for 3 and a half years, and they recently changed their interface, so I've switched to MFP and I am liking it quite a bit. I lost about 13kg in 2012 use MyPlate, but have since gained it back and am looking to loose 15-20kg, or at least just be happier with my body.
Feel free to add me, I'm still new to this website!0 -
Still here and hoping for a cracker 2014!! Still about 30kgs to go
Add me if you log daily and are on the lookout for supportive friends... I'll do my best to keep you accountable!
GO TEAM!0 -
Back with a vengeance!! Located in Melbourne, initially 36kg to lose but then a big reassess because I'll still be 13kg above 'healthy'. Right now the goal is just to be able to buy clothes in normal stores rather than plus size!
On here daily, diary is currently private while I sort myself out, then it will be open again. I'm chatty, so add me if you wish0 -
Still here too, not logging at the moment though as my trainer has me on an eating plan.0
-
TehGTrain, I'm sending you an add. You and I have very similar goals and nutritional approach.0

I am on the east coast of Australia. I am currently studying for my Bachelor of Health Science Food and Nutrition degree.... why? Because I am so deeply interested in all things mind/body health, but particularly nutrition. I go to my daughter's school and see all the sad, angry looking overweight mums living through their children. I go to the beach to train and estimate the average clothing size there to be about a 16 or 18. Something has got to change, and I want to be part of that change. Most people don't even know where to begin. This is one of my greatest passions in life.
I personally have a higher standard or threshold, if you will, and although at times I have dropped the ball and gained a few kg, I'm not settling for mediocre, larger clothing sizes and disease.
I have my own set of nutritional beliefs and principles that I have developed through my self education, and although my training in regards to resistance is somewhat lacking, I am determined to right this and break my 'cardio girl' mould once and for all.
I am pro Paleo/Primal/Keto, but I have a level head. I know that the all or nothing approach fails for most, so at the moment I am carb cycling. Please add me if you are a regular user who interacts with your friends list and don't overload yourself socially, as I have a tendency to delete people who never interact with me. I am in the forums to socialise, help and be helped and be friendly and supportive. This is who I am looking for as MFP friends ...the whole point of adding friends in the first place, hey. :-D
Have a fantastic day, give it your all, and be happy. :-)0 -
Brisbane (northside). Joined September 2013. 5 kg down about 10 to go. Not huge difference on the scales but size and shape changed noticeably.
This year is a big year for physical challenges and I will use the training for this to decrease the weight and increase the fitness.
41 and even though I have a way to go, I am the fittest I have been in over ten years.
I am able to spend more time paddling, surfing and cycling - as well as keeping up with my boys.0 -
God I love our country. 2014 is my goal year. After that I'll stay to maintain.0

Hi everyone, my first experience with MFP and I've been logging for nearly 2 weeks. I thought I knew what the good and bad foods were, turns out not so much (oops)
A quick intro: I have been feeling pretty depressed about my weight and how it's been creeping up over the last couple of years. I'm 32 and 6ft so I'm used to standing out but I'm hoping this year I can stand out a little less. I've been married nearly a year now and still loving being married, it's the best thing! My husband and I bought Fitbits for Christmas so we would be ready to take 2014 by storm. My goal is to lose 15kg. I want to be happier, healthier and more active so I want the entire lifestyle change.
It's going to be incredibly incredibly hard as I really really love my food (enough emphasis? lol) and I find it hard to exercise both with time and motivation. But I'm in it and here I am I welcome any recommendations on how to make those kilojoules stretch further and how to increase motivation levels to get off my butt every day!
Best of luck to everyone for 20140 -
Hi! I'm in Adelaide, and I'm 3kg from my goal weight. Hoping to hit it before the Fringe Festival is over (mid March).
I don't always log my exercise, but I also don't always log my vodka libations. I try to be as accountable as I can but have some to work on.
I've been an avid runner for years, even when I was at my heaviest. Last year I ran 3 full marathons and 6 half marathons, and I'm gearing up for an even bigger 2014 in terms of personal bests. I want to run a sub 1hour 40min half marathon and a sub 4 hour full marathon. I typically run 65-70km per week. I don't do any resistance or weight training at the moment so my 2014 resolution is to work on that!0 -
Hey, just signed up. I'm 21 and from far-outer East Melbourne. I'm hoping to eat better and get fit and see if I can make a difference to my mood.
Height: 165cm
SW: 59kg
CW: 56kg
GW: Hopefully below 50!0 -
I stopped logging and updating here but I love to read the posts and stories.
I only have 5kg to go to my GW of 58kg.
I am a fitbitter and I make sure I walk a lot. I just got back into surfing so I get enough exercise anyways.
I live in South East Melb by the Bay.0 -
I'm back again after losing 6kg in 2012. I've had a difficult third pregnancy and now have a weak back, weak abdominals and a neck hump
I'm 37, south of Sydney. I really want to regain my fitness and lose weight, I'm currently 173cm and 90kg.0 -
Still going, bring it 2014!0
-
I'm still here... as I have been for the last 600 something days straight
I've lost a bit of weight but have hovered for a while. First goal for the year is to do a century ride for the Tour Down Under in three weeks from now (156kms).
Then it will be ongoing cycling and weight training - with a focus on getting down to 12%bf for the first time in my life.
I'd like to compete in my first triathalon by the end of this year too... and maybe the tough mudder... looks like it could be a busy year for me! :bigsmile:0 -
Hi, I'm back after a long hiatus. I have changed my username and am ready to start afresh. I am a bit scared to step on the scales at the moment so will probably do measurements instead. I have about 25kg to lose. My goal is to eat clean and move more.0
-
I'm here. Live in the lower Blue Mountains, NSW.
Aiming to lose approx 15 kg throughout 2014. Currently hovering around 95 kgs, would like to get to 80 and then reevaluate.
All the best in 2014, guys!0 -
Been a member for a little while now, got past goal but after an elbow injury have out 5kg back on. Have started tracking again to try and get those few kgs off!0
