No, I wish!!! I lost 41 since surgery. The remaining was pre-surgery loss. My loses since surgery have been steady but slow/low numbers. I'm still glad I had the surgery. Loss may be slow and I've already had some plateu's but at least it is still coming off. Slow and steady, right?
    FOR SURE!!
41LBS IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS IS AMAZING DON'T SELL YOURSELF SHORT! YOU'RE DOING IT! :drinker: :drinker:

I am from (sunny) South Africa...

With my husband, we have a digital media company... We just went through a bit of a (very) bad patch with our business, but things are starting to look better. We still have a few months that will be difficult, but we believe that things will start to change now!

We commute between two big cities that is 1400km apart - Cape Town and Johannesburg. We have offices in both these cities - we are in Cape Town for two weeks and then we travel to Johannesburg for two weeks again...
    Wow South Africa!
How is the weather there this time of year?

I was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. I'm currently taking a couple of classes at a community to vamp up my creative juices. As far as what I do for a career? I'm currently a supervisor for a men's clothing store and I really wish I can go somewhere else. Right now, I'm in a career cross roads and I'm overwhelmed on where to go next because I've already received my associates degree 2 years ago.

    And that's me lol

    WELCOME!!
Hope you find what you're looking for very soon!

Also it's really cold out and the weather has been…well….psychotic.

I am a high school teacher from Chicago. The weather here has been amazing; wind chills of -45! School was closed 2 days this week, which never happens for us! We are looking forward to a "warm up" of 35 degrees ABOVE zero :) this weekend! I can't wait to be outside for a bit, cabin fever is getting pretty bad around here.

Hi, I'm from the Seattle area - born and raised here as were my ancestors. Seattle has changed a lot in my lifetime, that's for sure. I'm 55 and currently single, working in clinical research informatics and enrolled in graduate school. I'm actually at the end of the program and just 2 courses away from graduation. I'm going to have the sleeve done on Feb 12 during a school break. My son is flying up from Texas on the 8th to stay with me during surgery and for a few days afterward. I also have some good friends who work in healthcare and that will look in on me and make sure I'm behaving and doing what I need to do :) Am planning to take 3 weeks off from work and while I'm not nervous (yet) about the surgery itself, I am a little nervous about training myself to eat properly afterward - fitting in protein and water and all those bits and pieces of instruction that go along with the WLS. Until then, I'll just keep reading and absorbing advice from all of you who have already traveled this path. Sue

I'm from Stillwater, Oklahoma and am on the faculty at Okstate. I am married and have two beautiful young boys. I had the sleeve on 11/26/13. With pre and post surgery weight loss, I'm at about 60lbs lost. I still have 80 more to go, but I believe I can get there. This site has been useful for me and I'm glad there's a forum for us.

Hello! I'm from the UK and joined MFP yesterday. I live in Essex which is next door to London, I have 3 kids. At the moment I'm a stay at home mum although my youngest is now at school so I've started a few classes - Maths! I've always hated Maths and attempted my Maths exams twice (long story) as a teen and failed twice and I've run away from Maths since then - and that was many moons ago! Giving it another go and once I get that under my belt...who knows..?

I'm a qualified nurse (yup, I winged it on the maths!) and will eventually go back to that but, the shifts are extremely family unfriendly and at the moment I wouldn't earn enough to pay for childminding - no point going back yet if everything I earn goes on that. So - for the moment hubby brings home the bacon.

My date for banding is 25th of Feb and I would love to have more friends who are in the same/similar boat. So - new friends would be more than welcome!
I've struggled with my weight for as long as I remember, or since at the age of six I became aware that I was chubby after getting a birthday card from my sister saying 'Happy Birthday Meatball' on it. She'd drawn a meatball and everything...

Up until then I was blissfully unaware of what I looked like. I have lost and gained more times than I can remember and am just not prepared to do that again. The band for me is not a cure-all - it is an aid, it's symbolic (if that makes sense) and more than anything else I hope it helps me to stop yo-yoing all over the scales!

Nice to meet you all :flowerforyou:

    Hello all,

I'm in Western Pennsylvania and had my banding done at UPMC on November 15. I've not had any problems or complications (but I knew that I wouldn't) so I have been very pleased and amazed with it all. I knew that I had a food addiction, but a complete surprise to me was the "withdrawal" of pleasure as I eat. Now I am eating for nutrition, not for comfort. This will be a total change in my life(style)!

Born and raised in Orlando Florida! I am 25 and just graduated with a BS in Hospitality Management but with the swelling in my feet, cant physically work full time well in an office. So taking some time off to focus on my health and get this surgery (RNY) and being a professional babysitter for Disney part time until I can work well full time again.
