This weeks five point challenge is to add a smoothly or shake to your diet plan.
If you have them on a regular basis, try something new, make a different flavor.
The goal is to provide your body with additional fruits or vegetables that your body needs but is probably not getting.

Reply to this thread no later than 11:59pm (est) on Sunday to earn credit for this challenge. Post what type of shake or smoothly you had and the ingredients to make it. Pictures are always welcome!!!

Do we have to try a new one everyday to earn the points for this challenge?

Only one for the week, if you want to experiment all week that's completely okay too but you only have to try and post about one to earn points.

1 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and minced

    1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    My favorite is:

    1/3 frozen banana sliced
    1/2 cup frozen berries
    1/2 scoop strawberry protein powder
about 1/2 cup water (adjust to how you like it)

Blend it up for a yummy smoothie!

As a variation I added a teaspoon of cocoa powder...but didn't like it as much.

    Done!

I normally have a shake for breakfast everyday but I switched it up today.

    Normal shake:

    1 Banana
    1 scoop vanilla Shakeology
    Ice
    Water

    Today's shake:

    1 Banana
    1/4 cup frozen blueberries
    1/4 cup frozen raspberries
    2 large frozen strawberries
    1 scoop vanilla Shakeology
    Water

Definitely prefer my normal shake! This one almost reminds me of cough syrup! :s

Your normal shake sounds really good since I am a very bland eater....where can I get the Shakeology stuff? Also, how much ice and how much water?

I can report that the Pineapple and Ginger smoothie was delicious (if you like ginger, which I do) - let's see if it give me an energy boost for my noontime cardio class...

I order Shakeology online through BeachBody! If you're interested I could PM you with some details as I'm a Beachbody coach! :)

As for ice and water, I usually put my whole banana in, fill my magic bullet cup almost to the top with ice, put my scoop of Shakeology in and than fill the rest with water! A lot of people enjoy putting almond milk in instead of water too:)

Mine was a slight variation - I wanted to try almond milk, so I kept it simple - just almond milk, strawberries and a banana...loved it. This was the first time I have used almond milk - gotta say I liked it a lot.

    Done! :D

I couldn't make one myself, so I went to a juice bar and bought one that's called "Hangover cure".

It has mango, pineapple, lime, ginger and freshly squeezed orange juice as its ingredients. (And some ice cubes too...)

I don't know how much of everything is in it, but mostly orange juice.

    It's my favorite!

    Wendy's Frosty:

    3/4 cup almond milk
    About 10 ice cubes
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1-2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
    1/3 banana

It tastes really good. I added less ice and it came out more like a milk shake.
