Sample Routine for a Newbie

Hello! I just joined the group and have been recently reading about HIIT. I was just wondering if anyone had a sample routine for a newbie to follow. :) Whether it is treadmill or ellipticla.

    You probably got your answer, but here's what my son and I started with. Off the net somewhere. I'm about to start it again.


    30 Jumping Jacks
    20 push ups
    20 squats
    30 crunches
    20 high Knees
    20 leg lifts
    1 min Plank
    1 min Wall Sit
    Repeat 4-5 times
    And finish with a 1 or 2 mile Brisk (fast paced) walk.

    5 times a week.

    There are loads of HIIT workouts on pinterest and youtube. That is where I got started. I also do the challenges on http://dailyhiit.com/ LOVE that site. Sorry no info on treadmills and ellipticals though as I do my workouts at home and don't have either.

    I like this one, 1 min high knees, 30 second rest, burpee shoulder press, rest, mountain climber, rest, walking lunge w/lat raise, rest, mountain climber with leg raise twist, rest, tricep dips, rest, jumping jack, rest, reverse lunge with bicep curl, rest, bicycle ab crunch, rest, stretch
