Justifying the cost

I hate having to pay so much for the food packets and vitamins but I have completely quite going to fast food restaurants and drinking diet pop. I like to think that balances out the cost somewhat. Strangely enough, giving up diet pop was the hardest thing at first. I like that burn going down my throat. However I found that drinking herbal peppermint tea and herbal lemon ginger tea (like celestial seasonins jammin lemon ginger tea) either hot or iced still can give that throat feel.

I had a hard time with pop too! I enjoy grapefruit perrier from time to time. It's "fizzy" like pop and it's very refreshing.
My coach approved it, because it has nothing in it!
It's expensive, but it's my treat! I buy it at costco, there's lemon and grapefruit in the case and it lasts a long time

Since I don't have a whole family to feed (just me and DH), my household grocery costs dropped almost 30%
Otherwise, the cost is justified by my scale down down! That being said, if I have a very tight week/month to deal with $, I will switch out my lunch package with a portion of protein (phase 2) about every other day.

I completely agree, and brilliant idea switching to phase 2. I kept losing on phase 2, and phase 3 for that matter!
  • I also just joined on January 12. I was doing OK. But am struggling because my family is picky eaters. When I cook for them my favorite food, it is hard. The aroma itself is just killing me. I have not had my 1st week weigh-in yet. Weather is preventing this process. Everything is closed. One of my weakness was/is snacking. I used to snack all the time. This is a habit hard to break especially in stressful work situation. I have not found any support person to join and go through this process with me. So here I am hoping to get some support here. Cost is high. But I assume my health deterioration will cost more.... So here I am trying hard.

Snacking IS hard. When in Phase 1, gum and tea were my standbys. Now in Phase 4, I still struggle with it, but I HAVE to get a handle on it for this to not become a problem the rest of my life.

Speaking of long term habits, many people face being overweight not just as individuals, but as an entire family... do your best to help your picky eaters learn healthy habits so that they don't deal with obesity as adults. (I know it won't be easy, but we have to try for our family's health right?)

I agree with this - and look for LaCroix water! I LOVE it. It's fizzy like pop, but it's just carbonated water - they have numerous varieties, lime, lemon, grapefruit, orange, raspberry... All of it with no sugars, no artificial sweetner, no caffeine, nothing.. so no carbs either! It completely helped me quit drinking diet soda! It's about $4-5 per 12 pack where I'm at, so a little less expensive than Perrier.
