Here's mine. It's a great addition to my blood sugar management and more!

I have an Android phone and really like this app.

I use the same app. They did muck up the update :grumble: , but were quick to put things right and they answer your emails  .
I like all the graphs and the fact you can track BG, food (as amount of carbs), A1c results, body fat% and weight, blood pressure and pulse, medication, and exercise.
You can also email a log to yourself or your doctor.
    And it's free

Anyone know of an app that stores the data in the cloud rather than on the device? I'd like to be able to add entries from my phone, tablet or PC, whichever happens to be closest when I'm testing. The app I currently use, BG Monitor Diabetes (http://www.gordon-wong.com/bgmonitor/), only stores data on my phone. I like the app, but I'd like to have it use one data set on multiple devices.

I'm a creature of habit and have chose not to install the updates for fear of mucking up the water, what issues did you have and did you like their update?

Problems after the updates were mainly with ave glucose graph, the pie chart 'disappeared' and in the reports section the log was blank and glucose by category values were wrong. These all seemed to be fixed now except the glucose by category for some of the values. Emailed them again and they say they are working on it.
Main thing on the up date is that they've moved the 'save' button to the top of the screen and it only shows when you've entered the required value for that field. Anything else not sure of as only recently started using it.

As for the cloud and multiple device uses, a number of people have requested this feature. But this is a free app so it may/may not happen.

I've now canceled all the automatic updates for now lol.

I use Ontrack also for tracking glucose. I wish they would build this tracking into MyFitnessPal. That would make it perfect.

Thanks for your feedback. It seems I'm not missing out by not updating, personally, I like the save button where it is with my version.
I may decide to update in the future now that they've made a fix to those issues.

I've been using Glucose Buddy PRO from Azumio (I have an iPhone, iPad and computer). I have found that I can log in from anywhere and update my logs and print out a spreadsheet to take to my doctor. I've been really happy with it so far, but it is the only one I've used. You can track BG, Meds, Food, Activity (i use MFP and Logyourrun for that) A1C, BP and weight...pretty handy for me :)

I gave up on phone apps.

I had 2 different ones, and after paying for the "real" app after the free version expired, all of my data not only disappeared, but
I kept getting messages to pay for the upgrade.

Now I just write everything down, then enter it into a spreadsheet on my PC.
It's annoying as all get out, but not as annoying as wanting to flush my phone, which is bad for my blood pressure and could be harmful for the phone.

My sons think I am a cranky old woman who doesn't know how to use her phone.
    That's rubbish.
I simply do not have patience to sit around for 20 minutes pecking at my phone, trying to enter data into an awkward, non-intuitive application that will not function or retain the information.

Just call me "Maxine" ( as in the Hallmark Crabby Road character)

  • I use one called Glucose Companion. The free version only allows you to have 30 entries, but I think it was only $1.99, so I do think it is worth it.

    https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/glucose-companion/id456218638?mt=8

My meter comes with software, but it will only run on a PC, and I am a Mac user. All of my computers, phones and tablets are Apple, so I needed to find something else to use.

I like that it gives you lots of options to list when you tested, rather than just Before Meal and After Meal, like my meter has. They let you set your ranges and will highlight the numbers if they go over. I do wish they would allow for a Before Meal range and an After Meal range. Right now if I test after a meal, even if I am under the after meal range, the apps marks it as high.

And it lets you print out reports that you can email right to your doctor or diabetes professional.

I recently had an HbA1c lab test showing my results below as a comparison.

The ReliOn home test result; is; 5.8.
The Bayer test kit result being; 5.4.
The OnTrack android tracking app I currently use, estimated my HbA1c to be 5.1.

My local lab draw BG sampling within the same hour resulted in a value of 5.6.

The apps mentioned - do any of them that track food also have the ability to scan a UPC code like myfitnesspal does?

I log my food using MFP and I use Glucose Buddy for tracking my BS. It's simple and easy to use. It allows me to enter at the time of testing or later. I have read that some apps do not allow you to enter previous numbers. You can e-mail a log to yourself or your doctor. My only complaint with this app is that it is not always easy to connect to the server to sync the numbers to my account. I sometimes have to try several times over a period of time to get them to sync. I just loaded mysugr to try out but there is very little you can do for free, so I will probably be deleting it!

I use Diabetes Connect which is cloud based. It primarily tracks your glucose but you can add in meals, weight, carb intake, etc. What I like is you can view your accumulated readings in graph, statistic layouts. It'll also give you your average glucose readings for 2, 4, 6 week increments as well as a projected A1c (not accurate but more a guide).

I am looking for an all in one that I can use across all my devices I am going to try Health tracker for android. It looks like I can email graphs and results for BG, Blood pressure, and Weight loss all from the same app, to the doctors office. Does any one know of a better option.

I am fairly new to this (officially proclaimed T2D a month ago) and have only about 3 weeks worth of BG data recorded. I have been using MyFitnessPal to track food and exercise and software from Abbott Labs (maker of my BG meter) to track BG readings, a less than ideal solution. Today I have been reading about HealthVault from Microsoft. From what I read it should be able to import directly from MyFitnessPal and data from my BG meter through 3rd party software from Sinovo. It my also be able to accept test results directly from the lab. (I think that depends on the software the lab uses for reporting.) My question is: does anyone have any experience with Healthvault?

I wish there was an app that could integrate the MFP data with BG data to give an overall. MFP is so good at tracking food and nutrients having that timestamped with the BG data would give me abd my Doctor a good view of how and what foods affect my BG and effectivness of treatments and management. I would pay for an MFP mobile app that would add BG entries as an option and timestamping to food and exercise entries.

You can SORTA do this with MFP. At the same place you track your weight (My Home->Check-in) you can 'Track Additional Measurements'. The examples are for tracking size measurements like hips, arms, etc. But you can customize it and track any once-a-day numerical value. So I have created two for me, BGL-Fasting, and BGL-Post Meal.

Nothing that says you couldnt have BGL-PreBreakfast, BGL-PostBreakfast, BGL-PreLunch, BGL-PostLunch, etc. Or Even BGL-Lunch+1hr, BGL-Lunch+2hr

It doesn't quite give you a timestamp ...but putting the data together with meal data might give you what you want.

OR there is an open text field for 'food notes' each day. If you wanted to manually record the info with a timestamp in there it might help. That wouldn't give you a graph, but it would print out on the same page as your food diary info.

Also I know there are some 3rd party tools that can be used for exporting data from MFP into a spreadsheet.

This is what I do, not ideal, but I created a meal, to keep track of my Time, BS, insulin, called BASE Info....
    -- Time, 0 Hundred Hours
    -- Blood Sugar, 0 mg/dl
    -- Humalog, 0 Units
    -- Blood Sugar 3 hours after meal, 0 mg/dl
I just add to the end of my meal and adjust accordingly.

I have tried a few and none meet my needs so I just use MFP. I just record all my BG in the notes section of the food diary and they will print out on the reports.

    I am rather fond of
    http://www.bantapp.com/
Bant after banting; get it? I like that I can record my BG readings with a swipe. The reports are pretty readable too.

I Love mysugr! It has excellent reporting and makes it a bit of a game. Also has a nice educational bent. You can also use it online via your desktop. https://mysugr.com/
