I really like today's saying!
Trainer workout tonight, and a run. I found out this morning I got into the half marathon I want to run this summer, so yay. And eek!0 -
Hey!
Feeling pretty sore today. Today I got my son to the tutor a bit early and had extra time, so I *walked* to the gym, which is something I've been wanting to do for awhile anyway. Did my chest/shoulders/arms workout, which is considerably easier than either of the workouts I did yesterday, since it doesn't work large muscles. I ran back for my son. Other than some errands with my lil girl (& the inevitable tot-carrying) in the morning, that was it today. Just trying to recover from yesterday.
Laura, congrats about the 1/2! You'll be so ready for it by Summer, with all the "extreme weather training" you've been doing, it'll be a breeze. :laugh:0 -
Hang in there 13strong I had a bunch of stuff happen past year and my motto for the year is one foot forward! No matter what.
The party wasn't a wash physically because we did a bunch of dancing.
I put off sugar and wine fast doctor wanted me to start last week because of party so today is day one...no problem yet but nighttime is when I mostly want desserts and wine so let ya know tomorrow.
When I went to doctor about my toe (which is almost totally healed yeah) I told her I am a sugar junkie, help!!
I have cool doc she laughed and told me nothing she can do to get me off it but have to plow through day at time. Said to go off completely rather than cut down, I agreed with her because one bite of chocolate is like a drink for alcoholic!!
Today I was going to gym and ended up catching up on housecleaning, deep stuff, so after 90 min of that I am exhausted and call it good!0 -
So glad for you, Laura! You're going to do great that half marathon! Definitely a PR!
Was tired all day today. I don't know why. So I did the exercise I planned, but felt like I was dragging. For example, last Thursday, when I was doing my stair exercise, I was running up the stairs for about 3 floors before I had to slow to a walk. Today I couldn't even start running. I did however, do them, just brisk walking.
So today I did:
- Two sets of my stair workouts (up the 5 floors, then down, then up, then down, then to my cubicle and did desk pushups, calf lifts, and stretching; no squats today at work)
- The "Tone and Conditioning Class" during lunch hour which is an easy bit of circuit training with resistance bands and/or body weight work
- Then after work went to the swim center and did laps for 15 minutes and then attended the water aerobics class. Desi teaches on Monday, so it was go go go from start to finish and I tried to keep up.
- Now I want to do at least 20 assisted squats (as per Convict Conditioning) and then BED!0 -
Donna do you ever take a recovery week? You still work out, just at a lighter level. When I start getting tired like that Jason calls a recovery week to give my body a chance to, well, recover.0

Well I am back to the group and more committed now to attaining my goal!!! I have started a 90 days of Action program from www.neilarey.com which is all HIIT programs. I am also running a 10km run with my bestie on Mother's Day so I have to start incorporating running into my schedule.
So for those who don't know me, my name is Julie. I was on this site months ago but failed to continue logging. I currently weigh around 145 lbs and would like to be in the 135 area. I want to be in great shape for my future husband (August 16 2014) and myself. I have joined an all woman's gym at home and participate in the following classes : power (weights). Zumba, Kick, Yoga and Blast ( step). I work away from home so when I am at work I am going to run and use the rowing machine which is located at work. Some things have happened recently that made me wake up and appreciate the small things in life. I had a co-worker get killed by a tractor trailer and I just met him a week before. He was 36 years old and leaves behind two young boys. If this isn't a sign to get healthy I don't know what is.
So I am pledging my commitment to this group and with help motivate and hoping to find support and motivation for myself when. I want to quit.
Day 1 results:
???? 30 minutes on the rowing machine
???? successfully completed routine of 90 days of action
