March 2nd - March 8th

Pick one, two, or all three challenges. Remember: these challenges are optional. Not completing them will have no effect on whether or not you win the UAC.

Physical: Do 100 jumping jacks every day this week.

Mental: Research Health At Every Size (HAES) and, in this thread, respond to your findings.

Diet: Set your calorie goal to no more than 1800 every day this week.

As I hate jumping jacks with a passion, I will attempt this challenge for every day this week.

    Thanks for the motivation.

    Thanks Caradae:flowerforyou:

Will make a stab @ the 100 jumping jacks (most likely 50 twice a day) and my daily calorie goal is always set @ 1250 so 1800 is already in the bag, LOL

When I started here last Sept. I could not even jump or move enough to do a JJ. I credit a lot of my ability to be able to do it now to challenges like this one! Thank you caradea

My knees don't like jumping jacks, yet, and the 1800 calorie thing will happen automatically IF I stick to the other rules of this challenge group.

Soooooo, I'm doing the research and posting what I find.

I went to http://haescommunity.org/ and found this awesome tidbit:

"Health at Every Size is based on the simple premise that the best way to improve health is to honor your body. It supports people in adopting health habits for the sake of health and well-being (rather than weight control). Health at Every Size encourages:

Accepting and respecting the natural diversity of body sizes and shapes.
Eating in a flexible manner that values pleasure and honors internal cues of hunger, satiety, and appetite.
Finding the joy in moving one’s body and becoming more physically vital. "

I ESPECIALLY like "Finding the joy in moving one’s body and becoming more physically vital."

It resonates with the realization I had from writing about a dream I had last night. Movement! Dance! So I turned on a jazz station, and danced to their Fat Tuesday songs for 15 minutes. My spirits lifted!!!! And the thought of eating mindlessly just got shook right out of my brain! Yay!
