I had to scroll way back to find today's thread starter.

I opted to skip yoga this morning. Just wasn't willing to give up a couple extra hours of my day to fit it in. Have hardly been home this week and needed at-home time more than I needed yoga time. Will get in my long run later today. Temp is going to be 15-20 degrees colder than it was during the week (why does that always happen?), but the sun is shining.

Hi. Not great today. Woke up with a headache and it's stayed with me all day. Today is the last day of a full rest week. Hoping tomorrow I'll feel much better than today and be able to hit the gym.

Congrats on the job Marla and have a nice trip.

Have a nice run Laura. I miss affordable shopping in the US. I love Target especially. I have nearly every size in my closet anyway...well, except the size that I actually am. lol. I have a pair of jeans that are my current size, but they are worn out (literally with holes in places you don't want holes), but I kept them to gage size. For now I'm wearing big clothes and hate it b/c I have to hike up my pants all the time. haha

Donna, hope the barnhunt competition goes well today.

Sorry about the headache Sherry! That's the worst. I get headaches too and they really make it hard to do much of anything, including think straight (at least for me).

My run was good. Went 9 miles, which was my second longest run ever. I'm experimenting with fuels (type & frequency). I did one gel at 4.5 miles with sips of Powerade 3 or 4 times during the run and that wasn't enough. I think if I had done a gel at 3 miles and another at 6 that would have worked better, especially since it took me nearly 2 hours to run. I had brought a recovery snack & ate that and drank the last of my Powerade on my walk home (which was a mile).

Barnhunt trial today. Neither dog qualified, but I think that they did pretty well. We'll try again tomorrow!

I was on my feet all day, but didn't really travel much. Lots of standing. Then I went to my mother's house for dinner and to stay overnight. We went to Outback Steak House. Then came home and the dogs and I took a brisk walk around the block.

    Early morning tomorrow.

Sorry about the headache, Sherry. Exercise withdraw? :)

Sounds like an interesting experiment. I played with fuel a little lately, not really for real fuel, but as a treat for getting halfway and to see what might or might not bother my stomach or other digestive organs.

You might be on to something with the exercise withdrawal!

My trainer has me experimenting on my long runs now so when my half marathon rolls around I know exactly what to do and how my body will respond to it. The general rule of thumb he gave me is if I'm running at least 90 minutes then I need to get some calories in during my run. If I'm running 7 miles that might just be Gatorade or Powerade but if I'm going further than that I usually bring a gel or some chews too.

    Good luck tomorrow Donna!
