Hi All,

I am not new to low carbs. I did a Sugar Challenge when I found Dr. Scott Olson ND, 2 years ago...and took his 30 day no processed sugar Challenge. I did not cut all carbs, just the Processed Sugar junk (I am a sugarholic)...and lost 10 lbs. When several close family members past on, I thought I could handle carbs again I sooo firmly kept away, and fell off the wagon big time, slowly but surely gaining the 10 lbs back. I was certainly out of control with carbs until my daughter gave me the book Grain Brain. After my 16th day, I ate something or got stomach flu...and couldn't keep anything down, and ate bread and soup to keep my stomach calm. Now I am back, and had Nachos with lean hamburger last night for dinner. I ate to my tummy's content. I managed to keep my carbs UNDER 100 carbs, and feel great this morning and even lost a few ounces. I am DISCOVERING, that if I eat non-gluten foods now too, I stop breaking out in rashes. I am excited about going low carb. I am not sure about KETO yet. I don't have much more to lose. MOSTLY, I want to lose BODY Fat...and the Visceral fat around my organs. Just HAPPY I found this site...I have been on MFP for over two years now, and have made some grrreat pals. Nice to come to a group of like minded Pals now...as I think I have found my "niche" in eating. There is SOOO MUCH to read here...it is NICE to peruse and BE ENCOURAGED! THANKS, ALL!!!

Hi Deb. As a fellow sugarholic, I highly recommend reading "The Power of Habit" by Charles Duhigg. It helps to shed light on how we form habits and the science of breaking them for good.

Thanks for the Friend Requests Deb and Jan. I have already learned soo much more perusing this site and preparing my meals. Today. I was CRAVING sugar, and having been us :drinker: ing a serving of Dried Mangos for my sweet tooth. Since a serving is 32 sugar calories I ONLY ate one...and it "helped", but then decided now was the time to try a teaspoon of Nutiva Virgin Coconut Oil...downed STRAIGHT UP. When I took my tsp full of Coconut Oil chased with my black coffee...I stopped to see if I would feel any QUESYNESS (sp)...but DID NOT!! In fact...my CRAVING for sugar went away. I am sooo happy!! I am figuring out what to have for dinner now...Alll grrreat challenges to keep my Carbs down. I re-did my macros and did not want to go 20 carbs only *yet*. I am at 30 carbs now...with 60 as my top end goal...and maybe I won't even get there. THX for your Palship...this group is wonderful!!

Just an update on a suggestion of getting Starbucks coffee with HWC (heavy whipping cream)...It was a beautiful day, and I got ICED coffee with HWC...and it did NOT upset my tummy. The last time I ordered Soy (being lactose intolerant or so I thought)...my tummy did not feel so good. With the HWC, I felt great andI got 7gr of fat added to my food diary. I just learned how to make "bulletproof coffee". I will try tomorrow morning using coffee (I ground good beans), I will use HWC and coconut oil. I will make it in my BULLITT. I am allergic to chocolate, and someone else made it without the chocolate...so I will try the same.

    Today I ate: 32 Carbs, 94 g Protein, 99 gr of FAT...It was a good day.

Not having done this for a month...I thought I would be MUCH more out of breath than I was...and I WASN'T... my heart was pumping but I didn't stop...Soooo GRRREAT DAY!
