Hi Everyone. Nicole here. 27 years old looking to make this long journey. First off, I am so blessed to have found this site and group. I am they type of person who could really use motivation to get me through. I have a long term goal of losing 140 lbs but I am taking baby goals- first one is losing 30! I would love to hear any tips you have!

HI Nicole! Welcome!!
My suggestion is just to make sure to LOG EVERYTHING!!! Sometimes it can be scary or intimidating to think that you have to come here and put every single thing that goes in your mouth down in your food diary but it helps SOOO much with accountability and just so you have an awareness of what/how/when you eat.
The other thing is that you HAVE TO DRINK A BOATLOAD of water! Water is soooo important in weight loss...especially if you are exercising regularly.
And then finally, BE NICE TO YOURSELF! I would say find foods that you LOVE to eat and then make healthier versions of them...for example I LOVE meatloaf! so I now make it with 96% fat free gr beef, skip all the ketchup and just make it with a low sugar pasta sauce and that's it! You'll find that the more you can eat healthy versions of the foods you love anyway, the easier it will be. Same with exercise...find something you already love to do...dancing, martial arts, tennis...whatever you love...DO THAT.
Anyway, I WISH YOU NOTHING BUT SUCCESS!! Come back here often!! There is a lot of support here...ESPECIALLY when you are at a low...people have gone through similar experiences are always willing to cheer you up!0 -

I'm also new to the group…!! I'm 38 years old and am here to make my outsides match how I feel on the inside!!
My THEME SONG on this journey is: Jump Around by House of Pain.
It goes: "Jump Around! Jump Around! Jump up, Jump Up and Get Down!"… -->> geesh, that's mildly embarrassing!! my type-singing is kind of awkward!!! Look it up, if you like, they'll do a much better job!
Well anyway… right now, I totally groove to this, moving my body and swaying to the beat. But I would say one of my goals is to be able to actually JUMP AROUND the room when that song comes on!!!
