Skittles that is awesome! I could not go 4.0 right now to save my life! I was only walking at 2.0 last week which is the slowest I have ever been......ugh

But I figure it has got to get better, right?

Yesterday I walked to the grocery store which is about 20 minutes walk for me, right across the street from my work. I am going to go for a walk today too, it is very nice outside.

Have you guys heard that short bursts of intense exercise is great even if it is only for a minute or two? I have seen this a couple places today and was thinking about maybe trying that too......the scale still is not moving, but I do not want to give up.

@Skittles - thank you *hugs* :flowerforyou: and woot!woot! on your NSV. Wow, you are all kinds of awesome! :drinker:

@Unknown - that is great! Woo hoo on walking to the grocery store! :drinker: I've found just adding more activity into my day has made a huge difference. Do you mean High Intensity Interval Training - HIIT? It is supposed to be brilliant. I know Fitness Blender has some HIIT videos and Hasfit has too. I haven't tried them yet. I guess the biggest loser workout and the 30 day shred uses it too, and I have tried them! You do get a good workout and you got lots done in a short period of time, which is great.

@Sadie - how is your day going today?

@Star - how did the triathlon go? I'm dying to hear all about it! I hope you aren't too sore today.

I had a bad day today. We had visitors to the house, and because of my depression I can only stand to be around a few people and even those for only a short length of time. So I decided to leave the house, but also because of my depression I panic when I leave the house or garden. So I went to McDonalds and got chicken nuggets and then I went to the petrol station and got dorittos and a bar of choc. Then I took my dog for a walk on the beach. The good points were my dog was really good and I found walking on the beach quite easy. The bad things were that, despite having the beach practically to myself and having my music on, I panicked so bad my vision went black at the edges and my heart was pounding in my chest the whole time. Today ended up a maintenance day for me, calorie wise, which I don't mind so much. I hate feeling so stressed and pathetic and spineless though. Ah well, you win some, you lose some.

I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday!

@zombie: I'm so sorry to hear you had a rough one!! But PLEASE don't put bad labels on yourself ("pathetic and spineless"). Our words to ourselves hurt a lot more than we realize. You wouldn't say mean things to yourself if you had cancer, right? It's the same with the chemical imbalances in our brains for psychological disorders. BE NICE! Hugs Lady. How's your back???

@unknown: IT DOES GET BETTER!!! And faster than you expect!!! But don't worry about that for now...do what you can and it will just happen naturally! The small changes that you are making are going to pay off BIG TIME! And actually, you can do HIIT with ANY thing...even if you walk to the grocery store...try adding in short bursts where you walk as fast as you can for a few seconds and then walk at a slower pace to catch your breath...and then do it again. I use HIIT sometimes when I swim. I will swim a lap at my normal, comfortable speed and then I will do the return lap as fast as I can go...and just continue like that. It's GREAT!

@Skittles: YES!!!!! girl you are ROCKING IT FOR REAL!!!!! You are TOTALLY an inspiration!!! I LOVE IT!!!!

@sadie: glad you are having some nice weather...ya'll deserve it!!!! LOL

Thank you all so much for thinking of me and my tri!! It was actually today though but all of your thoughts and positivity energy built up and came to me just in time bc GUESS WHAT?????????

Zombie I'm sorry your feeling depressed, I two have depression and I go see someone. I know how hard it is, ( hugs)

Star can I just saw WOW 3rd place WTG that is amazing and congratulations to you. all that hard work paid off and you did it. I also love the photos thank you for sharing.

Unknown it took me months to get to that point. and it is getting a little easy as time goes on. but not even day. my hubby even says when we walk around I walk to fast and I'm not trying lol. it just takes time.

    Sadie how are you doing?

well today was weight in day and I lost 2 lbs and I know thats great but I feel sad on this weigh in and I know I shouldn't. but I was just hoping to be at the 40lb mark. I know this isn't going to be fast and I'm not in a race but I was just hoping. but I'm not going to stop and I did up my cal to 1800 so I'm going to test it out and see because I know I'm building muscle now so maybe I need to eat more but healthy things so we will see what happens in the next 2 weeks. I also have zumba, and my body pump class today and some walking in hand. I got this today.

I adjusted my weight today to reflect on the weight I gained back since last time :grumble: although I am a pound lighter than this time last week

Out of curiosity, may I ask you ladies how many calories you eat in a day, like what your goals are. My nutritionist set mine for me....speaking of which, the reason my dairy is locked is because the only way she can access it without a membership is with the link and the key.....

Anyway, mine are set as follows:

    2500 calories
    250 carbs
    31 fiber
    97 fat
    156 protein
    54 sugar

although online it says you should eat 1.2 grams of protein for every kg of body weight which would really make that 206 grams....but I do not always even make my 156 goal.....

if I stick to this, I actually do lose weight

    How about you ladies?

I must say I am really enjoying this discussion thread.....

Zombie, first off HUGS. Second, do not say negative things about yourself. You were having a bad day, but the positive in all that is you maintained! That's is a super awesome NSV. It truly is. Be kind to yourself. BTW, Sadie's middle name is Rose and the cat is Callie (short of Calla Lily), we have a flower theme going on. LOL I just LOVE the name Hans for a GSD so fitting! :D

Skittles, 2 lbs is freaking awesome! I know we some times set ourselves up with what we hope for, just don't forget that what you lost is amazing, and you are amazing! :-)

Unknown, good for you for resetting.

Star!!!! OMG! You did so freaking awesome girl..I'm sitting here with a HUGE smile on my face...so happy for you!! OMG!!! Awesome!!! I love the pics, thanks for sharing with us. So tell me, what's the next challenge now that you're a TRIATHLETE!!!!!! :D

I had a good weekend. Yesterday was more chores and a nice walk. It was actually so hot and humid here yesterday I could have put the air conditioning on. Honestly, these extremes in weather is such nonsense! Back to work today, with more crazy work loads on my plate - it's okay though, I like the work i do.

Today is healthy eating and walking on tap. :)

@Star - :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: AWESOME!!!!! Way to go! Wow! You are rocking that tri suit! So proud of you! :drinker: :drinker:

@Skittles - Yay! Congrats on your loss. I know what you mean about the 40lbs mark, but you will get there next week.

@Unknown - Great idea to reset your goals!

@Sadie - Sadie Rose and Calla Lily are such beautiful names :flowerforyou:

Thank you all for your kind words. You are all wonderful people, and I am so grateful for this great group where I can share my highs and lows with you all. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are right, I shouldn't put myself down. Today was a dark day after yesterday. I didn't get any exercise done, but I'm just going to rest and be back fighting fit tomorrow.

I am SO mad right now! In November before the Chipmobile closed beside my kids high school closed for the season, my daughter went there and bought a $25 gift certificate for my son for Christmas.....she made sure to ask the girl working if it would be good for this spring, and she said yes, of course. So, last week my son and his friends went over to the fry truck and there were new guys working to get it ready to open, and he asked if they were new owners, and they told him yes. That night I called the number on the card and was told that the guy that answered the phone was still the owner of the truck and that these guys were just the new management, leasing the truck cuz the old girl was gone, and that of course they would honor the gift certificate and he would talk to them and make sure there was no problem. Well, today the place opened and my son and his friends went down there for lunch, and, you guessed it, they told him they would not take the GC.....I am currently trying to call but cannot get anyone.....WTF, I am seriously pissed off....I am gonna go down there tomorrow and am not leaving until they either agree to honor it, or give me a refund....I am so mad!

OMG! It snowed in the night and is still snowing! I thought we were done with this crap. :explode:

Zombie, support and encouragement isn't just for when the going is good, it's also when the going is rough. Sometimes we just need to take a day, and then get back up on the preverbial horse. How are you feeling today?

Unknown, sorry you're having a rough go with your son's GC.

So as I mentioned above it's snowing again. I thought I wouldn't have to get all dressed up anymore for walk. *sigh* good foods prepped for today and a snowy walk on tap. Nothing new to report here on my end, still busy with work and still firmly planted on the wagon.

    Have a great day everyone!

Thank you, Sadie :flowerforyou: I can't believe you had snow!!!!

Unknown - that's a pain about the GC! Your son must have been really disappointed when he went down to the van. I'm sure you'll get it sorted.

Skittles and Star, how are things with you both today?

Another bad day for me, but I'm keeping on keeping on!

Kind of off on my days was at the er for 8 hours with a friend for her dad and I was watching her 5 month old because she couldn't bring her back in the room. And today I'm watching her again so off on working out. But I go home tonight so I'm going to try and hit up a walk.

Hey where is every one at? so the last few days I have been off with no working out, but still good on food, so today I had a NSV I went to davids bridal and I was in a size 26 dress it fit but the top was super loose because my breast are not as big but they still are huge, I was a DDD I think I may just be a DD now which I want to be a C lol but still it felt amazing to be in a 26, I haven't seen that in years. so I did a happy dance and it was cute too, the dress lol but anyways I'll be back on later after my gym class, just got home got to change and be back out. how is everyone?

    WTG Skittles!! That is awesome!

I have been around a bit....the first three days of this week were so stressful they felt like a week long! Seriously I spent pretty much all of Monday AND Tuesday night on the phone with different problems! Good news is I think everything is situated now....

I have not gone to the gym this week, again, because my hand is acting up, I have had carpel tunnel problems for about 17 years and my left hand is now in constant pain and I have muscle wasting by my thumb, so the DR told me no weights or swimming for now....ugh, hoping this only takes a little while to get better cuz if I can't do yoga, my back will start to hurt again, and I can't put any weight or pressure on the hand to do yoga, or even get up off the floor.....:grumble:

The weather has been wacky here too....Saturday and Sunday is was crazy hot for this time of year.....and then we had two days of snow and freezing cold Monday and Tuesday and then yesterday it was cold too, and now it has finally warmed up today....

Unknown thank you and do what the doc says and how your body feels. Never over do it. I know how it can be upsetting. Today in my class my knees were killing me and I was getting so mad at my self because I couldn't do what everyone else was doing but we have to listen to our bodies. Also I do hope everything works out better for you. Another thing I know how the weather is. It's been crazy here it was 78 one day and the next we got snow so weird lol

Zombie, star, and Sadie how you guys doing this week?

@Unknown - I'm sorry things have been tough for you this week. Skittles is right, listen to your doctor and your body, and happy healing! I know it is really hard when you can't workout. Hasfit has got seated workouts that you might be able to do, but there are a lot of punches and curls so I don't know if you can do that with your hand.

@Skittles - Wow! Awesome! Congrats Skittles, that's a great NSV! :drinker: You will easily be a size 16 by the wedding, you'll have to get that dress altered again! You have been having a busy week. I hope your friend and her father are ok. You are a great friend, she is lucky to have you. :flowerforyou:

I've been struggling this past week. I had a great NSV though. I had a couple of tunic tops that I bought 3 years ago and they were too small, even though they were a size 30. :embarassed: Anyway, I tried them on and they both fit now! One is long enough to wear with my leggings but the other isn't. I'm going to pull on my spanx, see if I can squeeze into my jeans and I might wear it for Easter.

I am struggling with with setting resonable exercise goals for myself. I do have an upcoming intake appointment with a physical therapist on 4/24 (seems like forever) to evaluate and set me up for pool therapy twice a week. In the meantime, starting tomorrow, I will do my best to get in 10 minutes of walking at least 3x's per week. I am open to suggestions. I have spinal injuries and widespread neuropathy which has resulted in weakness in my legs yep carry around an extra 175lbs isn't helping either. I hope I posted in the correct area as I am new to this. Please feel free to advise-Thank you

Zombie thank you, I don't know about the size 16, but I am hoping to be at a size 24 by the time of her wedding.and WTG on the tops, it just feels so great knowing you can fit clothes you didn't before or even looking better in old clothes.

Stormy welcome to the group, so glad your here :) I had a hard time at first with working out so I gave my self a goal to work out 2 times in a week. this way I could just pick whatever days I wanted with out setting my self up to fail. also walking is the best thing for you. I always say this. so the 10 mins walk is great. and just listen to your body if it starts hurting then don't push your self. but after 10 mins and your feeling ok shoot for another min or two. and try that. even is its only one day out of the 3 :)

an idea I would try and get some light weights, I started out with 1 lb weights and try some arm weights while sitting down. this website http://www.fitnessblender.com has a lot of great work outs and you can search them with levels of 1 and low unpacked because I have to watch with my knees.

as for me today I'm going to do walking, this week just been off I haven't done a lot of working out. but my eating is good. and my friends dad is doing so much better he is home and back to his self which is a great. I am also going to do some arm weights tonight and tomorrow we are having people over for Easter, my hubby family so I'm still going weight and measure all my food, and not over eat. plus I am going to the gym so this first holiday for me will be great. whats everyone else have planed for the weekend?

I think I'm talking to myself lol where is everyone at? I bet everyone was just busy with the holiday weekend. but its monday a new days and week so today I'm going to do some arm weights to get something in then off to Hell, I mean the dentist to get the crowns which I am not happy about because she told me it will take about 2 hours:cry: so I don't see anything else with my day. but on a plus note I lost 3 lbs so that was great. I am now 329. wow thats amazing to say that when I was starting at 370. I am so much closer to 300 then 400. :drinker: now I don't see my losing the 29lb by June 3rd but I do it see being gone by the end of July. It felt so great getting on that scale today and seeing that number.

So what does everyone have planed for this week?

    Skittles2183 Posts: 1,632 Member
well I'm waiting in the waiting room of the dentist and the lady calls me over and says I'm early. Now my apt is at 10 and its only 9:50 so I said ok maybe I wrote it down wrong, what time is it. and she said 10:30 next Monday. man did I feel stupid haha I just laughed at my self and was like well you gave me the best news today. so my apt is next Monday. so I'm heading to my mom's to drop off some Ham for her and coming back did some walking and later tonight Zumba and my body pump class.

    Hello!

Happy Easter to those who celebrate. You're right skittles, i've been MIA because of the long weekend and we've been having decent weather. :-)

That's too funny about your dentist appointment!

I'm still on track. Another crazy busy week at work, but I'm taking my lunch for walks - will not work through them! That's all I've got...pretty boring life over here. :D

Aye chihuahua!!!!!!!! Ok we won't even talk about the goings ons over on my side of town for the past week or so!!!! LOL. I mean I haven't binged out or anything but I've just been eating whatever the hell I want for the most part. I have to say though...in all honesty...I've done worse!!!! I've made a couple of "BETTER" decisions here and there but yeah...no bueno!!!! LOL.

Also, haven't been logging my food or checking in! So my PERSONAL RECORD of something like 180 or so days of straight logging is no more. Back to square 1.

Alright so I'm starting fresh for all practical intents and purposes and I have seven weeks until my birthday. I think I'm at something like 319 or so but I will weigh in officially tomorrow.

My workout schedule will look like this for this week...starting easy just to get myself back in the habit of working out:

    Wednesday: 30 min treadmill

Friday: 30 min treadmill or 1hr Tennis

    Saturday: 60 min walk/jog outdoors

    Goals:

    Check in here every day!!
No outside food...eat only what I have in my house

The other thing is that I've met a guy and I'm HORRIBLE at balancing dating and staying on track with my eating and exercise!! I tend to get consumed and unfocused!!! My goal is to either WORK HIM INTO my exercise routine (NOT like that you perverts!!! lol) or see him AFTER I work out. And also, DOING OTHER THINGS besides going out to eat on dates!!!! Go for a walk or shoot pool or bowling...tons of stuff to do besides eat.

Ok, hope everyone is doing well! Welcome to the new folks!

    Hugs!

Hello everyone! I am here! I have had a few days from Hell so have not been getting on here much.....

On the upside, my hand seems to slowing be getting better, not 100% or even 75% yet, but I can do some things I could not do a week ago, and the pain, while still there, is not as intense.....

Skittles - that is way too funny about the dentist.....I did that a few weeks ago with a DRs appt.....I rushed in at 10am apologizing for being late, and my appt was at 2pm, lol

Star - that is exciting that you are dating! Tell us a bit about him!! Where did you meet??

Last time I posted was Thursday, so basically since then, Good Friday I fast all day, then I ate a plate of pasta and because sunset was so late, went to bed shortly after and woke up at 3am with wicked acid reflux and I am pretty sure I stopped breathing for a minute cuz I inhaled a small bit of whatever came up......was up for almost two hours drinking tea as hot as I could stand with my head hanging out the window choking up phlegm.

By the time I got back to bed, my 5:30am alarm for work meant nothing, I woke up at 6:45, (I start work at 7), jumped out of bed, threw myself together, and then remembered I needed to get my turkey out for Sunday....right at the bottom of my freezer, with my gimp hand.....OMG, by the time I got to work, it was almost 7:30am. Was rushing at this point, and punched the wrong code into the alarm and set it off....had to call and wake my boss up at that time on Saturday and explain that I set the alarm off. :embarassed:

Then while I was at work Saturday afternoon, my 18 year old daughter texted me at work to casually tell me she needed to go to the post office to pick up a package from a guy she meet over the internet, in the U.S. (we are in Canada), who has no sent her a pair of boots. :explode: I LOST MY MIND. I was freaking out like so full of adrenaline that I could not even think straight.....She is adopted (late at 10 years old), and even though I explained things to my kids eight thousand times, she makes stupid mistakes and seems to have no common sense at times. It is frustrating too cuz my son would NEVER do the things she does, so I know it is not me. I came right home after work and spent the next 5-6 hours in her room with her because she does not talk when things like this come up so it always takes hours and hours to discuss anything.

So, that made the rest of the night tense and upsetting, all I ate that day was a single piece of toast and a cereal bar. I was going to eat lunch right about when this started, and went to bed without dinner when it was over because I knew if I ate at that point, 10pm, I would have over eaten and gotten sick again.....

Easter - which is usually my favorite and biggest holiday of the year in my house, was a complete bust, again, for the second year in a row, (last year my best girlfriend of 20 years died a couple of weeks before Easter and obviously dampened my mood), this year I spent Easter day grocery shopping and didn't even make all the things I normally would for Easter as I lost an entire day in cooking time. We did not even eat together. If next year does not get better Easter is going to start feeling like Christmas, which I am not a fan of.

Anyway, today life seems semi normal....which I would kill with to stay that way for a while....even though I cannot do weights or yoga for another week and a half at least, I am going to try and get out for a walk everyday that it is nice.....I cannot justify going all the way to the gym to just walk on the track or treadmill.

Ok, thanks for listening to my rant.....have a good day guys!!

Star, you're so funny - I was totally thinking "like" that! LOL Good you on you for recognizing that you go off the rails and that you're trying to find a way to work this guy into your workout and changing up what dates look like. :-)

yay I have people to talk to and not just my self haha

Sadie way to stick with it and go for a walk, I know it helps me to just clear my head and get some things out of it, Keep it up

Star first I got to say Love the photo I swear you look like your 25, its amazing. and I'm glad your dating. I remember when I first started dating my hubby we would go to the park and walk around and bowling and mini golf. its always a fun time. keep us all posted.

Unknown I'm sorry about your hand but I am glad its getting better. also Sorry your Easter wasn't great. I know we were having 8 for dinner and only me my hubby and his gram showed up because everyone else had a cold, or flu or something and no one is allowed in my house being sick lol. but it can be stressful when plans don't go the way you want them. I know when someone didn't happen for me I would go for food. Food was my friend and it never upset me. I now learn to try and deal with my issue or whatever with other things and not run to the food.

today I have to run to the store because my hubby wants home made pizza tonight, I'm going to have my own pizza but its on the flatbread. its pretty yummy. well I'm going to do about 30-60 mins walking. I been shooting for 4.0 and I notice my breathing has gotten so much better which is pretty cool to me haha and I have zumba tonight. also my mom and friend yesterday told me they really are noticing how much weight I have lost. I still don't see it in, I sure in heck feel it, but I just still see fat. ahh I'll get there. 29lbs to be at 300 woo hoo
