Just a reminder that your log runs are meant to be in the main thread located at:
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1268744-may-running-challange
If you log your runs there, there is no need to repeat it here. This thread was meant to ask questions or make comments or to ask/offer words of encouragement.
Everyone is doing such a great job logging. When everyone logs, some times serious questions or comments can get lost in the sea of running logs that everyone leaves. This thread allows me to see those questions much quicker so that I or others can react to them better.
Thank you everyone for participating this month. You all are doing great.0 -
Half marathon yesterday! Ran a personal best: 1 hour 57 minutes. I think I could have gone faster - I was pretty comfortable for most of the race. Maybe I'll aim for a slightly faster time next time...
That is an outstanding time on your half. My only half so far was last month and was so happy for my 1:58:08 finish. I was pretty sore for a week after that race. :-)0 -
RATS!-just acquired a new blister yesterday on my 5 mile run. I have my first 10k Saturday, so I will not be running until race day
Hoping it will be all better by then!0 -

Ouch! That sucks Nina. My wife used to get blisters all the time. Then she was advised to get running socks, and no more blisters. Cotton socks retain sweat and cause rubbing and chafing on your feet which is normally where blisters come from. Special running socks are designed to prevent that.

I finally recovered from the blisters I got on my first 10K. I changed to a light weight sock, bought a larger shoe, and started using moleskin on the toes that were rubbing. Today was my first day without moleskin in 3 weeks, and I think I am finally back to pre-blister form!0 -
I posted my ticker on the other thread. Just wanted to share my goal here. Last month, my goal was 28 miles. I beat it by a mile. This month's goal is 40 miles. I am 27% of the way there right now (love Runner Keeper...it keeps me on track). The change in heat and humidity has definitely worn me out more quickly! I guess it will get better as I get used to it. But wow, it can be rough.0
