Weighing in

Does anyone else dread getting on the scale? I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love it when I lose but if I don't or if I gain alittle it completely takes the wind out of my sails and I quit. So for the last few weeks I've not gotten on the scale at all. I was going to weigh June 1st thinking I would weigh every first of each month but I'm really scared that I haven't lost I'll be un-motivated all over again. Do any of you have this problem?

Remember that scale is only one part of your journey. My scale does not always agree with me. But I go by how I feel both physically and mentally. That scale is not a gauge of how much healthier I am becoming. That is my main thing. I want to get healthier so I can see me 2 year old grandson grown.

So, do not let it get you down. And most of all do not let it defeat you. Show him that you are in control and not him.

Ditto to both of you gals!

We have all been there. My weigh in day is Saturday morning. There have been times when I feel great only to get on the scale and have it dictate how I feel. (sad but true) I go back and forth same as you.

I had debated giving up the scales especially now since I continue to log in daily- I'm on a streak- 89 days in. Woo-hoo! lol

In my head I know it's how I feel that counts. I know and can see the benefits of living healthier, walking, moving more and how it is changing my body and my attitude. I have put myself in control of what happens to it and am choosing to be responsible.

But there is a part of me that wants to "beat" the scale so I get on it. Every choice has it's consequence and you just have to decide which works best for you.

I guess it actually doesn't bother me too much. I weigh every Monday evening at the gym. I use the same scale all the time. Half way through this journey the gym got rid of the scale I had been using, so I had to switch. It still kind of bothers me that this scale is probably not the same as the old one, since all scales seem to be different. I am a bit of a perfectionist, and want to know exactly how much I have lost. I've been pretty lucky in general that I've had times I haven't lost, but not many that I've gained.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me....I decided to bite the bullet and weigh in on Friday this week. It will actually be about 6 weeks since I've weighed so we'll see. Boy, ever since I went through menopause it seems like it's a very slow process. I guess whatever we lose is that much less we have to work on. Take care everybody and have a great day!

I rejoined weight watchers just to weigh in. I paid just for that LOL!!:blushing: I did not renew anymore. So my entire family including the hubby weighs in every Saturday morning. We are accountable to each other. :flowerforyou:
