Nice day for a walk to the park. Added 5.5 miles
June total 10.75 miles.
It looks really scary outside now, but the bad weather is not supposed to get here until after 2, so if I hurry I might get a ride on the bike trail in this morning.
Kar328. I'm with you on this one, It's way more fun outside with the deer and the bunnies and the squirrels and the birds. :laugh:

Had my first accident with my bike this weekend. I did my normal fast, sharp turn in a particular (empty) parking lot which is covered in blacktop. It was a little bit wet and the bike flew out from under me. I consider myself unlucky and lucky at the same time. Unlucky since b/c it was blacktop and not a regular parking lot, it was more slick (slicker?) and I probably wouldn't have fallen on a regular parking lot. Lucky b/c since it was blacktop, it was less gravelly and therefore my road rash was not as bad as it could have been. I went to the Hampton Inn across the street and washed the dirt out of it and then continued my ride. :-)0 -

As usual on Tuesday I went to the athletic club, trod the treadmill to warm-up [.33 miles]. worked the weight machines for 40 minutes, pedaled the recumbent bike [5.99 miles], and then I went down to the pool for my aqua class, only to find that it had be cancelled for the summer. The staff needs to be at the outdoor pool keeping swimmers safe from disaster. Hmmm.
With trepidation I ventured into the lap pool WITHOUT instruction. As time passed I devised my own water plan : walk a lap, walk a lap backwards, walk a lap sideways. Then I pushed myself into actually swimming! A lap of breaststroke, a lap of sculling, a lap of backstroke. WOW! I'd kept myself busy for 15 minutes! So I repeated "my aqua program" a second time. And my heart-rate monitor said I had been "in the zone" for the whole time. Miles in the water = .33.
Added miles for today = 6.65.
