I was trying to figure out how we could post each of our 'new exercise' mini challenges, so thought about doing separate threads. Hope you don't mind...then we can tell how each new exercise went and if we liked it or would do it again!

I just did a Pilates Firming and Flexing DVD....what I did not know was there was a lot of yoga in it. Plank not bad, love the cat stretch and childs pose. I had to run and get a 'stretch band' as I did not know the instructor used it...so put it on pause and ran and got one. Overall it was a good flexibility DVD. I would do it again. I did the entire one which was 50 minutes! (I forgot we need only do 10 minutes...oh well!)

Now going to eat/drink my smoothie....won't do another exercise on an empty stomach!! Then later today will put in the country dance DVD I have not used yet! Thanks Karen, this is fun!!

I decided to try one of the Yoga with Adriene videos on YouTube called Yoga for Complete Beginners. I had done yoga before but only chair yoga for older adults. This was the first time I actually got down on the floor and did it. It honestly wasn't too bad. I do believe I will continue since I really enjoy the relaxation aspects.

Great job!! Funny how we may have been out of our comfort zone before and now we are actually re-trying different types of exercises and they are not as bad a we remember or we have lost some weight and are feeling better about doing them!!!

    Hi Dee,

Oh i'm glad you tried Yoga with Adriene, she does some great stuff. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Well I went on an early morning bike ride for 17 miles, I know not new, and was going to do geocaching for my new "exercise" this evening but its 7:30 and still 90 outside and my legs don't have the energy for it. Tomorrow will be the day.

I did Zumba today, and ehhhh. I'm not sure about it. I don't think I like the group class thing. I'm much happier and more comfortable doing my solo stuff at the gym.

It's supposed to rain here tomorrow, so it'll be a good day for looking up some random things on youtube to try!

Do we get 1 challenge point for doing all three new exercises or one for each of the three we do?

I twerked. Hahaha. It was not planned. Im not sure if I can really count it. I have heard of it but I didnt know exactly what it was until tonight and I was out of breath and I know I am.going to be sore from trying. Definitely sore from laughing so hard. The next two exercises are going to be much more serioud attempts, I swear.

You twerked for 20 minuets Heather! Lol.

We we got up at 7am and went geocaching this morning for 5 miles and had a lot of fun. We found about 5 of our hiding spots and exchanged treasures with the. It was a great way to spice up a normal walk and spend a couple hours, as we were scampering up and down hills, crawling under bushes and digging under trees.

    I would recommend it.

    Hahaha! Twerking? I love it!!!

    Geocaching sounds like a blast!

I am on ZERO points for the exercise challenge because of a stupid Still's Flare that just won't let up! I just took some extra prednisone and vicodin so I'm hoping I can squeeze in my three attempts before midnight. My joints are so bad I can hardly move right now, and even if I can get into the lake, I have a 103 fever to deal with. Amazingly, a flare can go as fast as it comes, and for me usually it starts around 3 p.m. and it's done by 8 or 9 p.m. This one started yesterday morning. I didn't even get my regular exercise point yesterday!

Sorry to whine--I'm just frustrated and venting!

Okay, I definitely get a gold star for pushing through on this one. I dragged myself down to and into the lake and did aqua yoga (it's amazing how many poses you can do using noodles, including the cobra and sun salutation). I think I'll definitely try this again and look for a class this winter. I love yoga and this is a good alternative until my joints can support me again for the regular stuff. The best part was doing the deep breathing while the waves were gentle lapping around me, the sky was a purple twilight, and loons were calling at the far end of the lake. Very spiritually uplifting!

For my first exercise I forced my friends to try synchronized swimming. It was hilarious, but sadly we left our phones back at the house. I know said I would try to document it and I failed. I will find some way to make up for it.

**** no! I ATTEMPTED to twerk for 20 mins.. Basically, it was me dancing and getting as low to the ground as possible without falling over and trying to shake my non-existent *kitten*. Yes, you can be fat and have no *kitten*. Still, twerking is new to me so I so counted it!
