Looks like Karen has finely gone off the deep end.

Every single muscle in my body sore and tight. I need to get out the stick and give them all a rub down, but thats downstairs and I hate to think what that hobble will be like. I did manage to get on my hands and knees in bed and do a little Cat Cow yoga to help the back.

Pat... Finally gone? Oh, no, that happened long ago. Congratulations, on surviving your bike marathon and still being able to sort of walk! Get thee to a masseuse!

Norah, I hope you're feeling better.

I am finally ready for my challenge. First up is the cactus fruit/cactus pear. Thank goodness for YouTube. How to...Eat Cactus Fruit (Prickly Pear): http://youtu.be/tJpW_j1EYTY Then I have an Asian Pear, a Pluot (cross between a plum and an apricot), and some collard greens. I'm not sure I'll be able to choke down the collard greens, but I'm going to make a nice little fruit salad with the other goodies and see if Jim will try some. I have two 7-year-old boys for the afternoon tomorrow and thought it would be fun to introduce them to these exotic fruits too. ( We're having a pirate treasure map adventure.) Apparently the Asian Pear, because it's pricey, is usually reserved for a shared treat (the whole family eats it) or it's presented to a guest or sent as a gift. Given that, I think I'll need to be a little ceremonial with it.

I didn't get my long, long swim in yesterday because the weather turned to crap and the lake was churning up with wind and waves. I was just about to go out now when yet another cloud bank came rolling through, so we just went from sunny and warm to threatening thunderstorms again! Grrrrrr..... The last month has been horrible for weather here. It's either cold or raining or threatening to rain at any moment. I think I'll just leave my swimsuit on and take my laptop out to the studio and work on Bigfoot while I wait for the sun to come back.

No plans this week for a mini challenge. Does someone want to come up with one or should we just skip a week? We could do something fairly simple like earn a point for reading an article about healthy weight loss, eating disorder recovery, or food addiction. I'm sure I could find something and post a link if you don't want to dig.

    Anyway, that's today's babble.

Well the deep end is where all the fun happens anyways so I can't blame anyone for heading in that direction. I finished my food challenge and it was... interesting. I tried Black corinth grapes, lychee and a pepino melon. I enjoyed the grapes and I will probably get them again. The lychee had an interesting flavor that reminded me a little of a Caju (The fruit attached to the walnut. I am not sure what the English term is for that fruit), but the texture was a bit too strange for my palate. As for the melon I will just say this. I would prefer to eat dirty cardboard rather than eat another one of those.

I like the idea of the healthy article but we should all fine our own and then post the links with a quick summary. Kind of like a mini boook report. Then if someone else wants to read more about it, the link will be right there. We can just create one thread for all the limls. Our own little library.

Good idea! So this week's mini, runs now through Sunday, is to find an article, read it, and post a short summary and link? I like it!!!

I just finished my new fruits.
Cactus Pear. Odd, but not bad. The fruit was juicy and sweet, almost too sweet, but the seeds were gross and hard, plus I got a tiny cactus thorn stuck in my finger that just won't come out. So.... no... probably not again. I saved some of this for Connor and Kegan.
Pluot. Good. Skin very sour but fruit was juicy and good. It tasted pretty much like a plum, though. I didn't taste the apricot part at all.
Asian Pear. VERY delicate and watery. I only ate half as I'd like to have Connor and Kegan try this one too.
I think our pirate "treasure" will be fruits from around the world, and we can look at a map and find their homes.
No collard greens yet, but I did my three so I don't have to anyway, whoot whoot!

Thunderstorm has passed. Time to swim.

Eeek, I'm all worn out from ranting in the other group. Where's our grilling update? I expected a PowerPoint, LOL.

Oh, sorry, I should have signed my name so you all could recognize me because I am SEVEN POUNDS THINNER than I was ten days ago.
