Happy September!!!

Um... Excuse me but what happened to summer? How can it possibly be September? Pumpkin ales, mulled wines and hot buttered rums are just around the corner. Fall is a time for cozying up on the couch with a beverage in hand. I am in trouble.

However last night I drank the better part of two bottles of cold crisp chardonnay. It was a beautiful Labor Day. I got stuff done and I felt good. I even pulled out my Wii and did day one of the Active 30 day challenge. Maybe I will get my workout mojo back.

Oy....had a great vacay but I don't even want to get near a scale. :noway: We have 2 more getaways this month before we take the son back to college...I need to get in some fitness and eating healthy time in there somewhere.

    I love summer :drinker:

Hi Papa Lush! Glad you popped in.

Gary- Happy Anniversary! It would have been 35 for me this past January if I had stayed married to husband number 1( my daughters' father). But I am much better off with husband number 3 even if I don't have all the years to show for it.

Syd - I am going through adventure withdrawal. we used to do weekend trips every month but since Bodi's injury we just can't get away that easy. I also have to watch the spending a bit to save for the Jamaica over the top trip next May. But I am starting to go stir crazy. Good thing I get to hop down to Vegas for Andelane's first birthday at the end of this month.

Chloe the year has truly flown by.

Robin, I love how you describe the upcoming wonderful things of fall! I am so looking forward to sweater/hoodie weather, it is ridiculous! And I love, love, LOVE pumpkin ales, they are definitely my fave! I'll need to get back into a good workout regimen if I intend to drink the yummy ales though..they aren't low in cals :ohwell:

Chloe, a one year old already?! Seriously, where does the time go???

Kate, sounds like you had a FABULOUS & lushy weekend. That's always a good thing

Syd, I'm super jealous of all your wonderful trips. I bet you're just having so much fun! Lucky girl!!

Nothing new here with me really. My brother-in-law did move out of our house so it is wonderful being all quiet & everything!! I'm trying to eat healthier and workout more. But, as of recently...the scale just seems to be inching up & I'm at a loss at what to do:grumble: I'm going to avoid the scale for a while because it just brings me down!! Although, I could quit drinking a whole bottle of wine when I drink...:embarassed:

Next Wednesday is my hubby & I's 3rd wedding anniversary!! 3 YEARS! I can't even believe it! And football starts this week...so I'm a happy, happy girl!!! :drinker:

Our 3 year anniversary is the 17th! The weekend before we have my brother in laws wedding the Mike is the best man in and we are getting a hotel. So no baby! And the weekend after Mike is best man in another wedding in Florida. I am going to stay back with the little man, so we really won't be doing much celebrating us, but at least we have other people to celebrate

Robin, I hope things settle for you a bit soon. Your upcoming trip to Jamaica sounds like heaven tho...and of course Vegas is always a good distraction in the meantime...especially if a grandbaby is involved

Happy anniversary Gary...well done...and to think you still like each other and everything
Enjoy yours too, Chloe! I remember how precious those few getaways without the baby were.
Bridget...glad your enjoying your quiet time without the BIL. I feel ya on the scale...hopefully you'll find a good routine for yourself soon.
Katie...as usual your weekend sounds like it was a great one!

I'm pretty happy that this summer we decided to do several smaller vacations rather that one big one. It breaks up the months nicely and puts something on the calender to always look forward to. I booked one more week in October after the son goes back to school for just me and the husband...which we need to offset how much we'll miss him. But we'll do a couple of mini long weekends before that happens. It's been a very fun summer.

I got on the scale and was surprised to see no gain. That 5 pounds is still hanging around..but if I can manage to keep it from being any more than that until all the traveling is over..I'll be happy.

I had wine last night. 1 glass. I only have another bottle of red in the house that's about 1/2 full...so unless I go out and get something else..I'll probably finish that up tonight.

Short week everyone...hope it's a good one! :drinker:

Nothing last night. I got a free birthday burger from Red Robin which we are going go get tonight. We will walk over, about 5 miles around trip, so ehh whatever....I will probably have a cocktail or two, as well!!

    Happy thursday...weeks almost over

Kat, it's always ok to have a glass of wine...it has to be 5 o'clock somewhere

Kate, free birthday burger?? Happy Birthday? Did I miss that?? If so, Happy Belated Birthday! If not...then I'll tell ya Happy Birthday Day later! LOL Enjoy Red Robin! I love their burgers!!

Last night, I went to the Y & ran/walked on the treadmill for 35 minutes and then did 30 minutes on the bike. Pretty happy with myself. Planning to go to the Y tonight too. SOO happy it is Thursday!! I'm ready for the weekend!! :drinker:

More of the same last night and probably the same tomorrow. I have no desire to abstain.

And I just found out my sis in law (well soon to be, their wedding is the 13th) is going to be DD to the wedding we have this Saturday. So much for being good this weekend.....

I think I remember your Bday being around Labor Day last year Kate...enjoy your burger and drinks! :drinker:

I had wine last night, as expected. I ordered new dining room chairs that came yesterday and we celebrated with a nice family dinner at the table...cooked my famous pasta and meatballs and sausages....so red wine was mandatory.
    It's almost the weekend!

hold on to your hats, I had a zero last night. I had my labs on Saturday and my numbers are about the same as last year, not good but I am not dead yet. however, I did my testing after a night of Washington Red Apple bliss and my liver function tests were slightly elevated. I have to be good for a while and have them redone at the end of the month. :noway: Football really starts tonight. So I will say Go Hawks but of course you all know my heart really belongs to Denver. I may enjoy a cider tonight. after all it is the start of football season and I will try to celebrate with moderation.

I hope you all have a great day.

Just as I was reading this my son comes in and asks what team I am picking tonight...he is a huge Packers fan! Of course I said Seattle and he muttered something under his breath, lovingly of course

Soooo glad football is starting and even gladder (yeah it is really a word in my dictionary) that summer is almost over...summers in Georgia are blech!!!

Drinking almost every day and I don't see things changing soon :drinker:

So excited that football starts tonight!!! I really hope the Packers win, although I do have ONE Seattle player on my Fantasy Football team...I hope he at least earns me some good points!

No drinking for me tonight, I don't think. That could certainly change between now and 5:00! Trying to be a good girl..and make a nice homemade dinner. I've decided instead of going to the Y, I'm going to the store...then doing yoga at home. I did a good workout last night though! So, I don't feel too guilty

Sorry Kat and Briget. I do like the Packers but I am glad the Seahawks won. I didn't see the game. I felt like crap and went to bed at 6:30. I was ambushed at work and told that my attitude is too inconsistent. I am happy some days and grumpy others. I must be consistent. So I have decided to be consistently pissed off. I am still so angry with the two managers that tricked me into a meeting on a pretense and then slammed me. So being pissed off is easy today.. It will be harder to pull off when I am actually in a good mood. I had one small lemonade and vodka at the beginning of the hawks game and it made me feel so yucky I went to bed.

Boo Robin!!!! That sucks...I don't get it...if you show up and do your job why do they care if your in a bad mood....as long as you aren't snapping at people and being hostile...MIND YOUR BUSINESS!!!

1 margarita and 1 long island last night.
    Tonight????

SIL and family are coming up for an afternoon visit tomorrow....so much cleaning needs to take place tonight and tomorrow morning. I will have SEVERAL beers tomorrow.
Sunday-we are bottling a cyser (mead/cider hydrid) and our pumpkin beer so drinks, I'm sure!!!

    Happy friday everyone!!!

Robin that sucks they ambushed you like that. Work sucks.

Had 2 glasses of wine and a whiskey/d coke last night. Over several hours so I feel good this morning and I had a good workout yesterday.

Looking forward to a quiet weekend....we leave again late next week for a quick getaway so just hanging around the house for a few.days getting some things done.
    TGIF everyone! :drinker:

Robin that is terrible! What kind of people do that? I don't understand either, how can they seriously tell you that your mood is "too inconsistent". That doesn't even make sense! Plus, hello...we're women, it's our life to have inconsistent moods  But nonetheless, I'm so sorry they ambushed you like that. I would be so angry.

I'm actually glad the Seahawks did so well. I got some decent points on my Fantasy Football team thanks to them

I really wanted wine last night, but I resisted the urge! I was very proud of myself. But tonight, I will reward myself. I love Fridays!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend :drinker:
